In 1977 he was charged with sex crimes involving a then 13 year old girl Samantha Jane Gailey (now Samantha Geimer). His charges were

1.rape by use of drugs
2.perversion
3.sodomy
4.lewd and lascivious act upon a child under fourteen
5.furnishing a controlled substance to a minor

"We did photos with me drinking champagne," Geimer says. "Toward the end it got a little scary, and I realized he had other intentions and I knew I was not where I should be. I just didn't quite know how to get myself out of there."

He asked her to lie down on a bed, and Samantha Geimer attempted to resist. "I said, 'No, no. I don't want to go in there. No, I don't want to do this. No!', and then I didn't know what else to do," she stated, adding: "We were alone and I didn't know what else would happen if I made a scene. So I was just scared, and after giving some resistance, I figured well, I guess I'll get to come home after this".

Samantha Geimer testified that Polanski provided champagne that they shared as well as part of a quaalude,and despite her protests, he performed oral, vaginal, and anal sex acts upon her,[m each time after being told 'no' and being asked to stop.

Although Geimer has insisted that the sex was non-consensual, Polanski has disputed this.

Describing the event in his autobiography, Polanski stated that he did not drug Geimer, that she "wasn't unresponsive", and that she did not respond negatively when he inquired as to whether or not she was enjoying what he was doing.

Fearing having to serve jail time and the deportation Polanski fled to England and then later to France to avoid extradition back to the US to face punishment for his crimes. He was convicted the next day.

Now what I find all together shocking is how much support Roman Polanski gets from celebrities, the French government, the polish government, the switz government and of course the entire film industry. Despite being at worst an admitted peadophille and at worst a peadophille who drugged and raped a 13 year old girl. Many of these Hollywood celebrity supporters include outspoken #METOO and Times up supporters.

To this day I still think he did the rape, and I'm not surprised that European governments support him, as a lot of European men tend to be into very young girls. Not surprised by Hollywood either.   • Hollywood is a cesspool of hypocrisy, deception, lies, and creating narratives that aren't really there. Many Hollywood celebrities come out in support of stupid things (#BanBossy being one example).

  • Sorry, I struggle to take a pedophile rapist post seriously from somebody called "Catholic Girl"... however, this has been going on for decades. Many people who are now turning against him have been his close friend in the past. It's one of the things that makes Oprah Winfrey such a hypocrite and a liar.
    It also highlights how sketchy the industry is... but was there really any doubt?

If you seriously believe that the two are remotely comparable then I worry that you're turning a blind eye to the actions of the organisation which you provide money to. Personally, I wouldn't support (financially or otherwise) and organisation such as that.
