The Handicap Principle, Contd.

So I jumped the gun a little on my previous take 'Status Symbols are Liabilities.'

I completely agree with everything I wrote, but I hadn't realized the extent of academic interest in this theory.

So, after watching some course lectures I have decided 1) I am officially adopting this framework into the Yellow Pill Ideology and 2) I will link some video lectures for those extra curious inclined people who want to learn more about this theory.

Here's Stanford's Robert Sopolsky speaking on The Handicap Principle in the famous HumBio course he teaches every other year:

And here's a more fleshed out lecture mini-series inside a upper div bio lecture given by Marie Beck, faculty at CSU-N, California State University Northridge.

I am 98% sure this is the end-all-be-all theory of female attraction. The key differences between the handicap principle that I'm bringing into the Yellow Pill and common Red Pill ideologies is that red pill emphasizes what I now understand to be faking handicap signals -- ie. dishonest signals of fitness. This is why it is often deemed manipulative. In many ways, it actually is.

In contrast I want Yellow Pill to be about communicating honest signals. Along with illuminating what I think are evident scientific truths as a framework. In other words, one shouldn't fake handicap fitness signals, but should rather strive to gain honest indicators of fitness. And allow results to speak for themselves, this is harder because it entails paying the costs. Not everyone can do that.

In this way, people of varying abilities will need to adjust their situations and tailor their approach to mating according to their current affordance of costs associated to honest signaling. That's what reproductive success is actually about.

'Game' in contrast is about faking honest signaling. That's the difference between red and yellow pill. It isn't only looks -- expensive liabilities, if bought at full price new, can also serve as an honest signal. So can altruism, because altruism is expensive -- but should only be done if you can actually afford to do it.

Etc.

There will be a part three later where I can more fully flesh out these ideas. And, as Sapolsky cites, in more developed higher income countries and communities handicap signaling becomes less and less appealing. In lower income communities, it becomes more important.

This shouldn't really surprise anyone who's grown up and experienced both low and high income communities near extreme wealth inequality -- there is a difference.

This is all for now. ✌

This is where I think you misunderstand the red-pill and PUA theory. Before I go further my main criticism is that these other pills - yellow, black etc. Don't really make sense. Red vs blue pill is about the way the world really is vs the way most people think it is. Something is either real or it isn't, there's no in-between. When you're trying to be red-pilled you're trying to see the world for the way it really is - it's just that many who think that they're red-pilled are not.

To some, it is about faking signals. It's about coming up with the right lines, using canned routines, behaving in certain ways that don't match with your actual personality in order to attract women. That is dishonest and manipulative, I agree with that. It also doesn't work for anything more than short-term, until the woman realises that you're not the guy she thought you were.

However, when properly understood it's about actually becoming that guy just like you mentioned here.

In PUA they talk about "inner game" and "outer game".

Inner game: your beliefs about yourself and women, mindset, confidence
Outer game: the things you do and say

A guy who is very good at acting like an attractive guy is a guy who only has outer game. In order to be truly attractive inner game is more important than outer game, because with good inner game outer game becomes a natural part of his personality anyway.

You're still however too focused on outside things such as money. Faked or not - that's outer game stuff. Again here mindset and inner game is much more important.

The trouble again with many red-pillers is that they come up with theories but they're not successful with women. Therefore they don't actually know what they're talking about. That's why they come up with "LMS" theory, get all autistic and focus on that stuff when other things are more important.

  • Simply put masculine men attract feminine women. Lol.

  • What is wrong with these people in this situation I feel sorry for people that doing that is handicap
