It was all for a guy.

He wants me shaved, I thought it would be better to wax. After all they say it is smoother.

I just wanted him to give me oral sex.

After posting a question here about guy's preference of a girl's pubes.. I found out guys prefer different things.

It was too late until I found out that gynecologists actually warns girls against this because hair is there for a reason. It serves as a protection from diseases that will harm our tender skin.

After all the pain I endured, I felt confident... but only for a while.

It was painful when clothes touch my skin, I needed to remove my underwear, walk bare underneath in public.

I felt bald down there.

Then I noticed some pores becoming small pimples.

In the end, I'm too ashamed to show myself to the guy, when all I wanted was to feel his love in the first place.

Guys, please... if you're reading this, can you please think about your girl's health before asking her to endure extreme pain just so that you can have more pleasure.

At some point, we girls need to put ourselves first.

Hope everyone learned something, because I learned it all, the hard way.

  • Well I totally understand and agree that hair should be kept down there because it does keep the vagina protected from bacteria and diseases. Though I believe waxes can be good for in growth hairs and other health issues. Because some women shave down there. But waxing is much more better then shaving because one is even more at risk of getting ingrown hairs and breakouts. Though personally for you I feel your skin just wasn't properly used it since it was your first time and all. Also if you do use products to clean yourself down there you if you used smthg that has fragrance as well as some bad ingredients your vagina may have reacted badly to it. I'm sure if you find alternatives to better aftercare of a wax you'll learn why some females prefer to wax down there.

    • Also use aloe vera it's very good after shaving anything.

    • Also agree girls shouldn't feel pressured or obligated to shave down their because of men standards and social norms.

  • I can't love this enough!!! Very well spoken point of view. I have run into several girls now and all of them all thought they needed to shave or wax before sex or before I could give them oral. The little hair there in many cases suggested that they already shaved or waxed a few days prior. In each case, I was sad that they felt they had to do this to somehow be more attractive or somehow "more clean." What I really want out of the women I have sex with is for them to just be themselves and comfortable to be sexual with their own natural body appearance. I honestly can't think of a more womanly look than a cute bush on a woman I'm about to pleasure.

    • Please please please, continue to be vocal about this. Aside from my personal view that I think a woman looks better in a mature state with pubic hair, like you said, there is the aspect of health. The hair is there for a reason. And its actually cleaner by far to have hair down there vs not. It repels bacteria. You are amazing and brave and I wish there were more women like you out there. Keep spreading the truth.

  • While certainly there's a range of experiences, I think you might not realize that maintaining a wax job is far easier and less painful than the initial wax. That's because if you are maintaining it regularly, what is getting removed is thin "starter hair" and not thicker, fully grown hair. According to girlfriends, followup waxes are only 40-50% as painful and take about half as long to do.

    I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but given that you are giving others advice, you need to keep in mind that you haven't lived with the process over a period of time - you never really got to the point where the advantages are obvious, and that makes your review a bit one-sided.

    It would be like telling girls never to have sex because your first time was painful and awkward and you never did it again...

    • It wasn't about the pain level. It's about keeping hair down there as a protection from diseases and bacteria. Without hair, we will be prone to infection. So tell me, what's our benefit in that? Maybe you're talking about your own benefit. And if you're really keen about it, why don't you do it for yourself?

    • It's true that pubic hair exists, for one reason, to help protect against bacteria - and that was necessary for the first few million years when cleanliness wasn't easy or regular. Today, bathing is something we do regularly and often, and those issues just aren't very relevant in the developed world. Sure, it can be a problem in undeveloped places on the planet where access to hygiene is limited, but I kind of doubt that's how you live. In any case, no woman I've ever dated has ever had such issues that could remotely be related to shaving or waxing. Anyway, you are free to make your own choices, as I said - I'm just saying that you are reporting on an incomplete experience with obvious bias. I'm just providing another view - one that comes from women who have years and years of experience with the same issue.

      This article was written 2015, so tell me, is it really applicable only in the past "million years" as you were saying? I believe last 2015, we are already aware how to clean down there. I bathed regularly last 2015. So don't tell me that my post wasn't relevant today.

      Sharing your own experience is not interchangeable with the word "biased".

      That view was from a gynecologist, the only authorized person to say something about this issue.

    • I do not have a girlfriend, or any form of intimate relationship. Porn site traffic shows that men like it hairless. Hairy vaginas are relegated to a minor fetish category, which receives few visits. Hair looks nasty and stops us seeing what we want to see. My suggestion would be to buy a Braun Silk-Epil (or a Chinese knockoff from wish. com) and run it over your crotch every couple of days. It will be painless and you will maintain that just waxed look. It will also be a fraction of the cost of waxing. You can buy a Chinese copy for the cost of one salon visit. After that, being hairless will be free.

It objectifies the female body away from what's natural and healthy. Why would a guy want to do away with features which indicate sexual maturity and have more a look of an underage underdeveloped girl? It makes 0 sense. And I keep hearing about how it's cleaner and feels so nice smooth. Its actually cleaner with hair. Proven by medical science. Oh, and the whole oral thing...   • Exactly, the hair is there for a reason. Just like hair is on your legs for a reason. Its very important ecspecially in warm and wet environments were bacteria and bugs that carry disease are common.
    I never got a wax but I do shave. I don't shave my legs though because its not needed.

I used trim my hair really short. It feels clean yet still sexy unlike the bushy untamed version. And honestly until now, I'm wondering if I should maintain it or go back to my previous routine. I'm more comfortable with what I was doing before. And besides, my ex like it that way. I guess it's all about compromising to what you and your partner prefers.

  • Before I started shaving I would get these huge painful pimples down there. So when I first started shaving I noticed the issue went away after a while. So I keep it shaved. If I don't I get huge painful pimples.
    I honestly wish I didn't have hair down there. I don't like it personally. It feels better without. Never got a wax before though.
