Types of Trolls

1. THE POLITICAL ONE

This is a very common type of troll is someone whose constantly trying to stir up drama and stir the pot over politics.

Sometimes I doubt they even really believe what they’re saying and only saying outrageous things to frustrate you.

2. THE NAME CALLER

This kind of troll loves to call names. They also have really thin skin so if you literally say anything back to them they go and cry in a corner and play the victim. Even if they came out and attacked you first.

These trolls can come out of nowhere and start calling you names over a little disagreement or absolutely no reason at all.

3. THE PHOTO TROLL

What’s this trolls ethnicity?

This troll loves posting photos that aren’t of himself/herself and flooding the site out with them. Most of them seem to trace back to random social media accounts where they steal their photos from.

4. PERVERTS

This kind of troll comes in many forms I could do a whole mytake on types of pervs (and might) these are people who love making sexual comments, asking and commenting very graphic stuff, and many love to justify sexual deviance as well when on here. Perverts are one of the worst types of trolls and one of the most common on GAG

5. BULLSHITTERS

These are trolls who love posting obviously fake stories. Sometimes the stories might seem halfway believable at first while others are so outrageous there is no way it ever happened.

These people love the thrill of getting on here and sometimes writing a whole novel that never really happened.

6. SELF RIGHTEOUS

These are trolls who always think that they have the moral high ground they’re always right and love shutting people down and making people feel bad about themselves
Many times they aren’t consistent either they might tell one person one thing and telll another something totally different

There are also self righteous trolls who always think they’re in the right even if they’re clearly in the wrong on something they want people to tell them what they want to hear and side with them even if they’re wrong and get very angry if you don’t

7. GRAMMAR NAZIS

These trolls are very annoying. They love being anal retentive and nit picking every little spelling or grammar error. They think everything should be written like a doctoral thesis.

8. CHICKEN SCRATCH

This is the opposite of the grammar nazi. This is someone who can’t spell or use grammar to the point where it makes ZERO sense whatsoever. These people think you’re the dumb one when you can’t understand a fucking word they’re saying.

9. THE NONSENSICAL TROLL

These trolls typically say things that are just absolute nonsense. Asking questions that absolutely no reasonable person would ask, giving advice that is just outrageous, and the list goes on. It’s all just nonsensical

10. THE STALKER

This kind of trolls loves to set his/her sights on particular users and harass them primarily. They become obsessed with a person or multiple individuals.

11. THE DEVILS ADVOCATE

These are trolls that love to defend the indefensible. They’re really frustrating to deal with. Because they will defend things that are outrageous, disgusting, or otherwise immoral, unethical, and/or illegal.

12. THE SOCK PUPPET/alternate

This is someone who has multiple sometimes even hundreds of accounts that way when people block them or they get frozen they have another account they can jump on

As well as one of their tactics of trolling is trying to make it look like other people agree with them when really it’s their accounts

13. KAREN TROLLS

These trolls are trolls who love crying to the mods because they’re losing a argument or over petty issues. They seem to love getting people into trouble

14. CATFISH

There are a lot of catfish trolls. People who definitely aren’t who they say they are.

14. PSUEDO INTELLECTUALS

These are people who think or at least act way smarter then they really are. They think they’re being deep or look really smart but can’t see what a goober they really look like

15. SYMPATHY TROLLS

These are trolls who play on your sympathy whether they’re making stuff up or they are playing the victim on small things or things that they are clearly in the wrong on. These individuals enjoy playing on peoples sympathy. You can’t help them no matter what advice you give them they will rebut it. But keep telling you everything going on

16. OTHER TROLLS

Trolls come in many forms. I think I covered the most common types of trolls. There are some more rare types of trolls. Maybe I will make another list some days

They do not always do so anonymously, but frequently so.

Many posters simply welcome opportunities to express themselves.

Taking care to voice one's positions or expressing one's thoughts within the appropriate categories is certainly important. Sometimes heeding the category in which a question is placed can be easily overlooked by a responding poster. Stuff happens, that's life.

In looking back on some of my own posts I've found that I've occasionally submitted posts that were not completely in conforming to the topic at hand, usually just because a personal memory or another way of viewing a topic elicited my particular post.

I don't post anonymously. If someone may be offended by my posts, they can call me on it. If I've posted in a manner not in keeping with a particular category and it is found to be offensive to someone, I'll apologize. That has yet to occur in my case.

The G@G format allows for many different viewpoints, prohibiting, wisely, what they do prohibit.

It's obvious that the definition of the term 'troll' has debatable different meanings to some.

G@G has much content that is of little to no interest to me. I pass it by.

Trolls are here. They won't be going away. They used to upset me at times. I've learned to leave them to their own tortured existences.

You’re right. I go anonymously sometimes for different reasons. There’s definitely a lot of trolls. But some people just call someone a troll because they disagree too

Wow! I wondered what sort of responses my post would elicit. I had some expectations as being called out as an 'overly hyper-evaluating troll'. Lol. I used to have a bit of a negative attitude to those posting anonymously, but after much thought, other than wishing that I might like to form an ongoing online relationship with some anonymous posters, it really doesn't make any difference whether someone posts anonymously or not. The funny trolls. They troll most things with humor and ask intentionally sardonic questions. I actually enjoy those.

I am also sure I have been accused of some of these, perhaps at times with some warrant. I apologize for coming off that way when I have.

Your definitions of trolls are a little loose, but there are definitely a lot of troll on GAG and they come in many different flavors. I hate the political ones the most. We all know who they are, but most people seem happy to respond anyway and weigh in on their own biases, which is just feeding these ugly trolls. People, please just stop.

Great myTake. You petty much nailed it. I can't think of any additional varieties to add.

The ones that are most problematic in my opinion are the political ones, on both sides of the political spectrum, because the US is already so divided and yet they are still doing their best to spread hatred for "the other team" in any way they can. Their own hearts are full of hatred and, of course, misery loves company.

The worst on the left is consistently the self-proclaimed odd "fellow" (she's actually a woman, in case there's anyone left who hasn't figured that out by now), and the legally insane boxer, one of the most prolific posters on GAG but who literally has never posted a single question that wasn't driven by hatred and full of bitterness toward the other team. And of course the chick who claims she has a cute butt, although I'm pretty sure no one actually believe that.

On the right there are countless nasty, slobbering trolls drooling for another Trump term, but they are mostly anonymous or I haven't noticed their user names.
