Girl faking pregnancy scare for attention?

DISCLAIMER: I know I will catch some flame from this, but here goes anyway. I need your advice! Story goes as follows. . . 18-year-old coworker comes over and is acting all weird and flirty with me, so I grabbed her number and we started texting and hanging outside of work (for context I'm 24). We screwed around some and ultimately ended up having sex last weekend. I went out of town way up north where there is no cell service and she had been texting me. She accused me, then, of ignoring her "ever since we did it." I tell her I was out of town and apologized, and she did not seem upset. BUT here's where it gets dicey. She texts me "did you actually put that condom on when you said you did?" and of course, I did, because I do not want babies! She proceeds to tell me (this is 3 DAYS after) that she thinks she may be pregnant and won't give me reasons why she thinks so until I begin prying (gently of course) and then blows up at me "I'm eating everything, feel nauseous and sleep all the time is THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU?" Her violent reaction makes me a bit upset, and it is a red flag that she's being overly neurotic. 1) I know that the physiological responses due to pregnancy CAN start early, but not 3 days after conception. 2) She says she went and got a blood test and will know by the end of today if she's pregnant or not, but that can't be since the hormones detected in pregnant women are not at a level high enough to matter until later 3) she JUST had her period and we would have to wait at least 2 or 3 weeks to get a proper take home test completed. This is my knowledge about the topic and is what I consider accurate info. I think she is just faking it, as she was with her very manipulative friend all night heckling me via text at work. Not to mention that they were in a comped hotel rooming getting wasted all night. Good responsible decision for a woman who thinks she is pregnant, no? What do you all think? Fake? What should I do?

  • I wouldn't just assume she is faking it. If she is and you keep treating her like she'll resent you for the rest of her life, for which you will be tied together.

3 days is very early but after about 6 days you can detect a pregnancy from the blood. So just keep your calm until then and have a test.
Having early signs like that 3 days after conception isn't unheard of. You mean she just had her period before you had sex? Well she's 18 periods are often very irregular at that age and sperm can survive in her body for three days. So I wouldn't rule that out either

She might not be pregnant but she might think she is. Any reasonable person would know that a bit of an headache isn't enough to detect a pregnancy, how it's a sign and she might feel very sure about it. Loads of women claim they just know when they are pregnant.
Also pregnant women often react overly emotional which might explain her response to you questioning her

    • Don't worry, I'm not treating her like she's faking it. I'm being supportive and there for her as if she is telling the truth so that we may peacefully reach a conclusion as to whether or not she is pregnant. We used a condom (and yes I know that pregnancies can still occur, I'm not talking about niche cases here) and I do think that 3 days after is WAY too early to even try to "call it." These cases in which women are right generally strike me as coincidental at best. There's just as many that are wrong about it in my opinion. All things aside, I am trying to keep things adult and guide her to a point where we can get a proper test done with me present so that she may not lie and if she's faking it, she'll likely just admit guilt before having to go to the doctor with me.

  • Go to the doctors with her. She could be faking it, she could be just reckless. It also couldn't hurt to demand to see the results of the test.

You're right though. All those symptoms seem to be a bit early for her stage if she's really pregnant. Yes everyone's different but it does seem suspicious.

    • Thank you for the advice. I was planning on making sure that any testing that gets done included me so that she is not able to lie. If she refuses to allow my participation in such things I would consider that reason for more doubt. I have had a friend who's ex actually tried to draw a line on a pregnancy test to show a positive with makeup from her bag in the bathroom, so more or less, I'm just concerned that she's doing that proverbial "crazy" dance.

    • Yeah, you can also buy positive pregnancy tests online.

  • It's called *Entrapment* she's doing it to keep you around... I say drop her because she's immature.. This behavior will only get worst in the future... The girl who said she does it to get CARE from her bf is/was using entrapment too..
Avoid those types of girls They are nighmares...

    • *NightMares* Also, I have kids there is no way she's showing signs of pregnancy this early... Don't be a fool..

    • Thanks for the confirmation. I mean, she can't be that ignorant.

    • You shouldn't be that ignorant... Her complaining about you not texting her was a RED flag you should have dropped her then... She's not your gf?

  • sounds fake to me. she can't possibly know she is pregnant only days after the fact. furthermore no doctor would bring her in for blood testing at 3 days after having sex, they just wouldn't bother. so unless she is going to a lab and paying for the work then it's all b. s.

what should you do? tell her you'll call an ob-gyn, or ask her what lab she is getting blood work done at. or tell her you'll go to the lab or doctor with her. basically call her bluff

    Her story sounds blatantly fraudulent.

    • That's how I feel, too. Thanks for your advice.

  • I would just wait until you can take an accurate test. guessing isn't gonna do anything, even if its in your favor.

    • Thanks. That's a very objective and logical bit of advice. I will definitely be letting it be until the time frame arrives in which testing is legitimate.

  • Keep sleeping with her and she will. She is the type of girl to purposely get pregnant to trap a man.

  • I'm calling fake. If she's just got off her period how could she have already ovulated? And if for some crazy reason she has she still wouldn't know. It hasn't had time to travel and attach its self or anything yet. And I don't think a blood test will show this early either, I guess it could but I really don't think so. She's just trying to get you to hang around is all.

  • welll i used to say tht i may be pregnant to catch my bf's eye n get his care.. obviously when i knew i wasn't , may be it is a fake

    • Cries for attention seems like a possible cause. I hope for men's sake that you don't do that anymore! It's stressful! Haha

    • doh its you! hahaa :D

    • don't you think there was better more mature way to get his attention?
