A Filipino girl claims that people only masturb*te because they have nothing else to do and have boring lives. Is this true?

So what do you people think. The women who but sex toys. Or the men who watch p*rn or even just the men who masturbate period. Are all these people only doing these activities because they have nothing else better to do? I thought it was more to do with sexual drive and hormones. I mean the female bonobo even does it. I don't think it's done out of just boredom and that you have nothing else to do. She thinks that about sex also. People who want to have sex a lot are only like that because they have boring lives and nothing else to do.

Or does she just have a low sex drive and little interest in these things so doesn't understand others and just comes to ignorant conclusions about their reasons for doing things. She isn't into sex and has never had it and said she hopes if a guy ever gets with her he doesn't want sex a lot because she doesn't desire it.

    • Yes I agree, it's quite obvious. Nothing I can really argue with that you said. I notice it also. She simply has a low sex drive. One thing I can sort of argue is that believe it or not but many people who have a partner still do masturbate though. I guess it depends on the partner if you would still masturbate or not. I mean if they were amazing and pleased you a lot then masturbation in the relationship probably wouldn't happen I would say.

    • No she is really Americanized. She loves the USA, she is Catholic and even believes that if a guy isn't circumcised then he isn't much of a man (This is a belief they have in the Philippines) don't know where it came from though because that belief isn't from the USA.

Her rational as to why other people do these things is distorted because she doesn't feel the same things as them so she just comes to the conclusion that they must do it out of not having anything else better to do. What I am saying is that if you have free time and you feel horny and masturbate the reason you did it isn't because "You didn't have anything else better to do". Again maybe you have low urges etc. I mean for someone with a low sex drive there is probably nearly always something better to do as they don't have much of an itch to scratch in the first place. A good analogy is if someone had a big mosquito bit that was super itchy. They don't scratch it because they have nothing else better to do, they scratch it because they feel they need to, it's their urge. Now another person who has a really small bite and it's barely itchy at all (analogy for low sex drive) probably wouldn't think about the itch or have much urge to scratch it.

    • Well you have to acknowledge that there are some people out there who actually do have low sex drives. They are in touch with their sexuality technically, being in touch with your sexuality just means knowing your sexuality and being honest with yourself. So these low sex drive people are still in touch with that. Just in touch with their lack of sexuality I guess you could say. But I see what you are talking about. Not this woman I am talking about but there actually are some people out there who literally sexually suppress themselves. (sometimes religion causes a bit of this). Most of those people I think sooner or later their biology and their experiences force them to be in touch with their sexual reality. But I think there are some who nearly sexually suppress themselves for life. Suppressing something that is natural I think will just cause problems every time. You can't fight your true desires and biology.

  • The only reasons? No, but certainly could be a reason, ie- looking to find relief from feeling bored. Boredom is designed to stimulate us into taking action. Sometimes we don't figure out what action to take but we still need relief from the boredom so masturbation is one option to take away the feeling of boredom.

    • Well the people with more normal sex drives and desires I think need to masturbate to relieve their hornyness every now and then. But it's clear that people who have really low sex drives and lower urges don't really need to relieve much at all so have little need for doing it. I feel sorry for those people a bit.
