I walked in on my parents having sex... HELP?

Question

So im a 13 year old girl. I've never dated or been in a relationship. So lately I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping...i would get to bed at like 3 am. Tonight i couldnt sleep and when id complained ab my sleeping my dad told me to just come in and we could talk or what ever. So tonight i couldnt sleep at all. And i heard some creaking from my parents room (their room is right next to mine). And i thought i heard either one of my parents moving around or working(they work alot) or cleaning(they always complain about how messy their room is). So i casually walked(usually they watch movies or tv until midnight and id just come in to find them sleeping or watching a movie alot). When i walked in i saw it...i was so freaked out and i immedieately shut the door squeaked and i kinda started crying. I was so confused and lost and i thought i was just seeing things or something. I could hear my dad complaining about how rude what i had just done was. I do see now how i should've knocked but i honestly thought that all parents stopped this activity once they were done having kids. My dad had also told me to "just come in" when i couldnt sleep. Plus I've just walked in while they were watching a movie so many times. So i honestly did t think something like this was ever even possible. But anyways im so freaked out. Im crying and im scared and scarred for life. How do i ever look at either of them the same way anymore? I dont know what to do! How do i deal with it and forget it? Help

Okay. First, I'm sorry you were so traumatized.

Adults have sex all their lives. I'm in my mid 60s (I know. I was here before the dinosaurs.) and still have lots of sex.

This is both your faults. Tell your parents that you don't ever want to see that again so you want them to put a lock on their bedroom door and use it. You could also suggest that they install a solid core door to soundproof.

When you get to their door, knock AND WAIT TO BE INVITED IN! They sound like a couple of bunnies so you never know. If they don't answer, go away for at least a half hour unless you're bleeding. If you are, call their cells.

You will probably never forget it. It is something that most of us at least sometime in our life see and even though it's not a pleasant sight or something that we want to think about it is also natural. Your parents are humans as well as being your father and mother and because of it they have sexual urges as well. You just happened to have some bad luck and see them while they expressed those urges.
just stay calm and don't think of it to much. It will become a bad memory with time and everything will seem as a fun thing to joke about once you get older. =)

Why would you think parents stop having sex just bc they had kids, when Childless adults continue having sex?

Anyhow sorry you encountered that... Not sure what to say. I had a similar experience when younger a but younger than m you. I just tried to forget it I ws relieved no one tried to aooooguze it whatever it was so embarrassing.

I don't know if forgetting it is the right thing. It dud kind of turn be off sex though that's all I know ten years later. Maybe counseling? Though Idl how you'd getcthatcwithiut taking to your parents. I guess try to forget it.

Try to forget what you saw. And you will forget it. They are human beings. Believe it or not, sex helps them being together. So they need it. They seem lovely people as your description.

Try to think of it from their point of view. Their beautiful, wonderful daugher saw them doing something, she should never see them doing. They must be horrified, and embarrassed. All of you should just pretend that you didn't see anything. Best way to go about it. Live in denial. Denial is bliss.

Just say "sorry, I should have knocked but you know doors have locks for a reason" and leave it at that. Guess what. Us old people (I'm old enough to be your father" do have sex. They're probably as horrified as you. Personally, I do my best to remember to lock the bedroom door though to keep this from happening. And if it makes you feel better, I walked in on one of my kids who was masturbating. Everyone involved was embarrassed. Later I said "sorry, I should have knocked. You may want to use the lock on your door." and that was that.

Well adults have sex even after having kids.. Now that you know that next time ask permission to enter their room. Obviously what you saw was a nightmare but it was an accident also. It might be something you are not going to forget for the rest of your life but you learned a lesson with the experience you had, and the lesson is that: Parents will always have moments where they will want to be alone, and those moments have to be respected at all time.

People of all ages have sex. Seeing your parents having sex is not the end of the world and you have taken a step into the world of life. You might try watching some sex on-line of people having sex and learn it is not all bad. Sex is a beautiful thing. None of us would be here without it. It is time to grow-up.

So the idea that adults stop having sex when they have kids is ridiculous since there would only ever be one kid in every family and not to mention that it's just a ridiculous idea that adults stop having sex.
