Do some sororities take in new initiates based on how hot they are?

  Ok. But I guess it's a great way to socialize in the greek system. Are there lots of parties where guys and girls can meet each other? In non greek uni's there don't seem to be great socials, and the clubs are too specialized and cliquey.

  There are socials (organized between 1 sorority and one frat) at bars between sororities and frats can meet each other. There are things like Greek Week and Homecoming there a sorority and frat are paired together as a team and compete with the other pairings to get the most points at the end of the week. There are parties too. You can also get on the executive board of a frat which will require you to socialize with other greeks and their chapters.

  See that sounds so great since there is a system which matches people so they meet people or to force people to socialize or at least is a legitimate ice breaker. Otherwise, if you don't have that, you just have to wing it/blag right? Sounds great.

  Nothing is forced. Everything social between other chapters is your choice to go to. But yeah, with out opportunities like that, you'd just have to make conversation with a stranger. You will most likely have other Greeks in your classes as well, so you can always talk to people in class and not wait until an event too.

  Yeah the BJ thing seemed a little too wild. I mean nothing against two sorority girls who wish to do it, in fact, that would be hot (strangely it's even hotter them being from a sorority) but as an initiation test, seemed too far!

  Yeah the greek system seems great. You get to meet people and it's organized to encourage regular socializing, even if you are shy! You are matched up right? That's awesome

  I don't know how it works at other schools, but at my school, for socials, the social chair member of a sorority and a frat will contact each other and organize a social. For things like Greek week or homecoming the Greek system board will pair you guys up with a sorority. I think it varies from school to school, but it's probably a similar system.

  I don't think that is true for every one of them! Most are just like clubs, if not better as it's a large family with multiple activities for lots of people. I think there is some of this though. I was wondering the same as you?
