I am being quite serious about this... so listen up! When I was a virgin and I used to go on dates with women, I used to tell them I was a virgin because I thought it would help me get that much closer to sex. I used to think that a girl would be more willing to have sex with me if I wasn't going out there having with multiple women and if she knew I have never been touched... thought that would make her want to have sex with me more.
HOWEVER... when I would get intimate with women (kissing heavy and making out) and they knew I was a virgin, they would tell me they wouldn't have sex with me because they wanted me to have with someone I truly loved and they didn't want me to regret it. This absolutely drove me crazy.
After I stopped telling women I was a virgin, I had my first lay.

The only time I've heard girls saw "aww" in response to hearing about a guy being a virgin were from girls. Basically teenagers and sometimes younger 20s. To me, it's condescending and patronizing. Almost like they think you're a kid (innocence). I was a virgin until I was 25 but no way in hell am innocent and I was quick to not talk to them again.
Because a person's virginity is marked by innocence.

it would depend on the context of the situation and probably ask why he was still a virgin because that's pretty important to know if our opinions and personal values regarding sex line up or not.

It's usually over something cute and a bit pathetic like something struggling (like a baby trying to reach for something it can't get). Well, you're in the same boat in a sense. Nothing wrong with it - I didn't lose my virginity until I was almost 22 - and lots of girls would probably love to be the one to pop you cherry.
