Leave early. I'm a Software Engineer, so I rarely work with clients and I don't do customer service. My career isn't so fragile that it would be damaged by me leaving early once. It's not like I'm gonna tell anyone that I'm leaving early to have sex with a random girl, am I? And the only thing that matters is if I meet my deadline. Which I almost always stay ahead of, so no problems there. Luckily, I can also work from home or just go back to the office and stay late, if needed. Quite a flexible career.
