Why do guys brag about having sex with someone?

A guy I slept with is bragging about sleeping with me. He's younger than I am so he must feel good about himself. "Omg I slept with an older chick I'm so cool." A family member knows about it that's how I know he's going around bragging about I feel pretty disgusted about it

He went into detail about how long and how I give a blowjob. My family member told me he said that. I'm sure he made other comments about how I am in bed.   • That's usually immature and/or insecure guys. They are desperate to feel "manly" and bragging about their conquests makes them feel that way - and they mistakenly think that it impresses other guys, though that's usually not true.

    Plus, promiscuity is more rewarded for guys, and more judged harshly for girls - which isn't fair, but there are biological and historical reasons for.

    I learned early on that, as a guy, if I kept my mouth shut, I'd be much more likely to get laid more, because girls wouldn't have to worry about their "secret" getting out.

    Some guys just never learn, though.

  • They brag because they're proud and because they're excited, they want to share. If something special happens to you (not neccessarily sex) you want to talk about it too don't you?

    That doesn't mean it is right, he should have asked you for permission before telling everyone. Tell him you want him to stop and teach him to be more secure about it next time he sleeps with anyone. It's not only his secret to share, it's also hers and he should ask for consent.
