  @Anno_Domini Wait when it says Student violin kit. Does it mean that it's a violin only made for beginners? Reason why I'm asking is like when I got my Clarinet for when I was in band. It turned out that it's a clarinet only for beginners. So if you wanted it to have a better sound to it. You would have to get a real instrument instead of a beginners one.

  My fiancée got me a student violin, and my mom's friend who plays folk music ("fiddle") said that it had a pretty good sound to it for the price.

  @Anno_Domini It's more like having a Violin that is only good for when your starting out. Then when you become better and want to play with a more serious sound. You would have to buy a brand new one. Which then you would be stuck with having 1 Violin that's now useless to you. Might seem weird I just like having to own one instrument. I don't know having that first Violin or some other instrument has more meaning to it. This probably sounds weird. lol

  I heard that for something beetween 400 and 600 you can get a violin good enough to learn and start playing complex pieces. The 100 ones, for what i remember, turns out to be a pain in the ass to get it to play right and to get the notes as you need (making the learning experince a bad one). Decent ones to learn comes like 200, and hand made, it will give you decent quality to know you are playing them right for the first years... but this just things i googled, i don't really know. I saw some usa luthiers talking about it.

  No, I totally understand. If you really want to do it, just save up and buy a midrange or higher violin. It's never too late to start. It's a hard instrument to master, for sure, but it's a great feeling to learn any instrument.

  @Anno_Domini it's probably still cheaper buying a piano. Though I guess a keyboard would work better but still doesn't have that true sound a real piano has. That's another instrument that's on my list of wanting to learn.
