Why do so many women wear Leggings as pants nowadays?

Combination of comfort + more laid back society. Women don't feel as much need to "dress up" just to go to buy groceries or have coffee. Also a lot more women go to the gym so you might be catching them as they travel to and fro.

Outside of the practical uses for them, I don't get the ones that do it intentionally to show off their figure though. Out of 100 who do it, maybe 2 actually have a figure worth showing off lol.

Leggings are cheap. I went to the mall with my friend when she needed to buy some pants. A pair of jeans were $50 while one pair of leggings was $10. Long story short, she bought 5 pairs of leggings instead of one pair of jeans.

We need to adapt to pants (fit into them) while leggings adapt to the shape of our body and hence they are comfy. Believe me I wore ethnic for all my life except starting to wear jeans 4 years back and leggings 2 years back.

They're comfortable, that's why many girls wear them as pants, and some simply like the style of them. I only wear them at home. I prefer to wear a nice skirt or dress when I go out.
