Has feminism affected men's standards?

In the past men were against getting into serious LTR with women who were very promiscuous and slept around. Also even in countries where traditional male/female gender roles are in place men have a preference for younger women over older women.

I'm noticing that men today don't have any of this. A lot of men seem to have opted the mentality the past is the past and as long as she clean now they don't care how much dicks his girl has serviced. So we have a lot of young men who actively are pursuing 30+ year old women and consider them more attractive than girls in their 20's even though on a biological level 20 yr old has better quality eggs and more of them than a woman in her 30's. This isn't tied to desperate men on gag but even at celeb levels.

  • First of all, with respect to feminism, it will all come back to bite women in the ass. Women don't appreciate how good they have it. To be able to play perpetual victim, even when "the law" gives you equal rights, even when "the law" gives you "superior" rights "and" "less" obligations... and to still have the balls to play it off like you're the victim. Eventually, it will turn into the tale of the boy who cried wolf, only it wasn't a boy, but a full grown ass woman, complaining that she doesn't make the same as a surgeon working two (2) seventy two (72) hour call shifts a week, because she's an English teacher (etc., etc., etc., we can go on all day with examples).

    Secondly, nevertheless, I don't think "feminism" has much (if anything) to do with male "preferences" for women. There are "internal" preferences, and then there are "revealed" preferences (those that you express externally through action). When I was a freshman in college, I had a fantasy of fucking my biology professor. Not because I found her attractive. But the idea of it was appealing to me. I wanted to be that young guy she would have a memory of fucking from her college biology class. I wanted to "give" that experience to her. If you're an amateur statistician, maybe you'll take that data and say, "Aha! This action means he's attracted to older women!" No! It doesn't. There are other motives behind sex (and relationships) besides physical attraction or even an emotional connection.

    What exactly does your "relationship/sexual" history measure? We know what your credit, medical and insurance experience history measures. What exactly does "number of dicks inside her vagina" measure? What is that a proxy for? Because a single dick inside the vagina is not a prerequisite to cheating, or manipulative behavior, or violent behavior, etc. So, what is it measuring, exactly, if there's such a big emphasis being placed on keeping that record "clean"?

  • Females really do seem to find their true libido around their 30s though. It totally corresponds with my experiences. That said, it's weird for 20-year old guys to be dating 30-year old women. 30-year old men still tend to be quite horny enough. 30s isn't the new 20s for me. It's just that we discovered that 30-year old women tend to be about as horny as a 20-year old man. Women usually need to reach around that age to really, really, really be into sex.

    On to the main topic, I don't know how much the feminist movement has affected men's standards.

    However, obviously *women* control men's standards above all else. Back when no woman would ever spread her legs for a man before marriage, men eagerly waited until marriage to have sex. Now few men are going to date a woman with those standards, since for every woman who wants to date for months before having sex or even get married before having sex, there's a horde of hot, young women who'll sleep with you on the third date, e. g.

    If women today suddenly rallied together and decided they're only going to sleep with men wearing pink shirts, we'd all be wearing pink once we realized what was happening. Men's sexual standards are ultimately a reflection of women's sexual standards. We just do whatever gets us pussy.

    • Some of that is just the gender equality double-edged blade, and that has more direct ties to feminism. It's just the same way men's sexual history was often disregarded, now we do so for women as well. Generally when society balances towards gender equality, it pivots towards the side that's easier to achieve. For example, we could have made it so everyone's sexual history mattered, but that would screw all the promiscuous people out there.

    • You can always work backwards though and come back to the bottom point about how women drive's men's standards -- men are followers here, women are the leaders. It's like why is it now a big deal to kind of suggest we forget that a woman slept with 30 guys? Because a lot of women out there have actually slept with that many. Why is it a big deal now to try to make 30-year old women out to be more desirable than they generally are among men? Because a lot of women now reach their 30s while still single, since most guys they meet will simply have sex with her and then move on, or if she has standards and won't put out, they'll move to another girl.

  • I don't see it, or experience it, in any way. I respect women, and treat them like I would want to be treated, with respect for her, as a person.
    Nobody has EVER called me 'sexist,' for opening a door, or taking her hand, or adjusting a chair for her, taking her to an elegant dinner for her birthday.
    I think that this 'old-fashioned' concept, of 'Feminism' has been dead and buried, and women today are not really concerned with it, as those in the 1960s.
    Women today may still face some compensation disparities, maybe some 'bias' from the corporate 'Good Ole Boy's Club', but I think it is changing, and this idea of 'Feminism' isn't needed, as women today are more confident, being who they are, and never encountered the sexism of the past.

    First of all, in the past men married whoever their parents them to. As did the women. Choosing your own mate is an invention of the 20th century. And in the first half of the 20th century people typically choose to marry young, often in high school, because that was the only way to have sex. Also because there was a lot of pressure to start a family early. Not having a family was not an option, it's just what you do. And marrying outside your own age bracket was also frowned upton. In the 50s, there were public service announcments warning teenage girls about older men. Older in that case was less than 10 years. There was a lot of pressure to do things a certain way.

    I would say for the first time in history men are free to choose whomever they want to.

  • You're comparing apples and oranges here. A man not caring about a woman's sexual history (you know, the way she is expected not to care about his) is not the same as a woman preferring certain physical attributes in a man (like height).

    Men still tend to prefer thin women over fat ones, big tits over small ones, big round asses, etc. Maybe if we're going to start making comparisons between men's standards and women's standards, we should begin with the ones that actually make sense.

But life experience is a crazy thing, and after a few years of adulthood and being in different situations, you pick up on things--some that you eventually grow to wish you could have avoided ever learning. But such is life. I apologize if I have offended you, truly. It seems you misunderstood much of what I have said, and that's okay. I just think the playing field needs to be leveled a bit between women and men in terms of sexuality. I also believe that men are treated unfairly in family court and domestic relations, so there's inequality everywhere (which is why I'm not a feminist). But human sexuality is definitely tipped in favor of men in society. That comment that douchecanoe up there made about "many keys in one lock vs one key for many locks" is a perfect example. That's really the only point I was making.

    Feminists hate white males even though white males have helped create most of the social programs that help these groups. But back to the point, if a group hates you, but need to maintain peace with that group due to societal standards or fear of being ridiculed it will affect your standards no doubt. But that is a problem, don't let anyone tell you how to act or what to accept.

  • In the past, men had the right to go out, spend time with friends and sit on their ass at night. Their duty was to put in a full days work, enought to provide for the whole family, with 1 paycheck.

    Women had the right to depend on their man for everything they needed and spend time with their friends. Their duty was to take care of the children, make sure the house was clean and that the man could come home after a long day, fill his stomach and relax in his chair.

    Modern day feminism has given women the right to work and sit on their ass at night, but not the duty to provide. It hasn't given a man the right to depend on their woman for everything, but it has given them the duty to make sure the kids are taken care of, the house is clean, and dinner is on the table at night.
