Please help me understand. What is the appeal of hooking up with a stranger unprotected? I hear many (NOT ALL) men bragging or hyping up hitting a girl raw. I also hear women raving about this as well. And the first thing I think of is HIV or any sort of STD, whether its curable or not, they all compromise your health. I understand if you're in a relationship or both parties involved have been tested beforehand and inform their partner of their status in the arrangement you have (for example, fwb). But something tells me that the conversation of YOUR or THEIR std status is never brought up at that time, because you're too distracted by this opportunity unfolding in front of you. And if you DO ask before you have sex, how do you know they're not lying in the heat the moment? You don't know them, so I assume you can't trust what they say... You don't know where their vagina has been. You don't know where their dick has been... So tell me, what is the appeal of "hitting it raw" in a spontaneous hook up with a stranger? **Before I get people going crazy in the comments section, please understand AGAIN that I'm simply asking a question: What is the appeal? My intention of posting this question is NOT to imply how anyone else should handle their sex life or body. Thank you**

i think it is irresponsible because if you get HIV you are basically keeping the virus alive. you have to take pills for the rest of your life. how does that weigh up to a one night stand with no protection?

i would NOT want to have sex with such irresponsible people, even with a condom. they are trash to me. the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

I understand irresponsible. But trash? What if you have unprotected sex with your husband and you get an STD from him because he's cheating on you?

It feels better for guys to have sex without a condom on but I don't get why anyone would risk getting an STD or knocking up some random girl just to make the sex a little more pleasurable
