Why are porn actors always so bad at acting?

Like for real how hard is it to answer the door and "i dont have any money to pay for the pizza" then go "oh yes yes oh yes" for 10 min without looking like a total tool?

  • Well, the obvious answer is that they're not professional actors. I think people think acting is easy, but it's really not. I took an acting class in college just for an easy A over the summer session, and I always thought acting was something I'd be able to do fairly easily, but it turns out it's not anywhere near as easy as it might look. I think I could be better with additional classes, but it's definitely something you have to work at. So most of the people in the porno movies are just like most of us inexperienced actors would be, awkward and unconvincing. And I don't think it's high priority anyway, they probably don't waste much time shooting multiple takes, they just get through it without messing the lines and keeping a straight face, and get to the sex.

    • Right, and the same go for some martial artists on films who are not good actors as well, they take for their skill at fighting and not so much for their others skills, but some a good at both, like Jean-Claude Van Damme and Jackie Chan.

  • That has always totally amazed me too - Lets say that thousands of people have done porn yet none of them can do a build up scene without looking like a plank of wood - Surely the numbers dictate that at least a couple could act.

  • For starters the actresses and actors have no real acting talent to begin with. They're mostly wanna be's that can't make it in Hollywood so to pay bills they go on screen and fuck or be fucked for the money. I guess you're not supposed to pay attention to the acting just the sex.
