Yes it can be. But it depends how BOTH of you act.

If you simply lie there like lemons, you won't enjoy it.

Yes. It's not so much about what you do, but how you do it that makes it intimate. It doesn't have to be the most intimate sexual thing you can do, but it can be part of the play.
