Can rape ever turn into consensual sex during the act?

Do u think it is possible for rape to turn into consensual sex during the act? For example the rapist is really good at sex, and the woman starts to like it and stops resisting. It's been said 50% of women have rape fantasies and as we all know women get pleasure out of being dominated.

I mean we've all seen in some shows and possibly in real life where the man forces himself on a woman, the woman resist and then she succumbs to his advances and gives in. Hell, a good percentage of female erotic books are based on that fantasy alone.

  • I'm thinking that anyone who voted Yes has never been touched non consensually. I've never been raped, but my boyfriend (now ex) once did try to have sex with me after I said no. He was on top of me and he was doing things that, if I were in the mood, normally drive me crazy (in the good way!). But since I didn't want it, it felt disgusting and repulsive. Even though we'd been dating for 2 years. Even though I loved him. I didn't like it even a little bit.

So no, I don't really buy that rape can become consensual if the attacker is "good" enough. And I wish that TV and movies would quit encouraging guys to be "persistent" and "ignore her NO."

  • If it started as rape, it's rape, end of story. Regardless of whether any pleasure is gained from it. Let's take your premise for a moment, the woman somehow part way through gains some pleasure from her body. Does that mean all the actions leading up to that moment can be ignored? No. The situation you describe can only happen in fantasy

    • Not what i'm saying. The woman resists the man and doesn't want his advances then during the sex starts wanting it. It's sort of like when a guy forces himself on a girl or what we see in films tries to kiss her and she pushes him away, but he hugs her and pulls her in. And only to give in once they begin kissing.

    • We've all seen some variation of this in real life as well where the girl doesn't want the guy to do X but he ignores her and she likes it when he discards her orders and does it anyway.

    • That's different situation to what you' were describing. Within a relationship, sometimes the guy could playfully advance and the girl may resist a but but then give in or whatever. But that happens as part of a loving committed relationship where you know each other well and when it's just playful and when either person is serious. You love and respect each other's decisions. what your original post was saying was whether a man could force himself on a woman, perhaps someone he doesn't even know for her to enjoy it then. I do not believe in that scenario that would be anything other than rape, she may gain some pleasure during the act possibly but afterwards she would still feel used and abused and the mental pain it could cause her. I stick to what I said first of all, if it started as rape, it's rape, end of discussion.

  • No - interesting and thought provoking question. However I think it diminishes how violent rape is - would a guy liked to be raped by another guy and then start enjoying it? I personally doubt it. There are a lot of rape based sexual fantasies, but I think these are more about losing control and power.

  • The Stockholm Syndrome (also known as 'capture bonding') is defined by a victim generating genuine empathy for their attacker. This is not faked empathy, but very real - and it is a survival mechanism, as an attacker is likely to be wary of a victim who is faking empathy for them. Victims afflicted by capture bonding often sympathize with their attackers for years after the attack is over.

This can happen, sure, but it doesn't alter the fact that they are still a victim.

  • I mean you STILL kinda went ahead and forced her into having sex when she said no... Regardless of what came afterwards... It could most likely still be considered as rape. 😂 Even though the chick digged the magical dick.

  • No dude no. Just no.

  • Even if the theory is true, rape is still illegal (in most areas) & just morally wrong. It's safer to just play out a fantasy with consent of your partner (s) rather than attack a stranger. Honestly, that is NEVER ok.

  • No. Even if the victim suddenly gives verbal consent and says they are okay with it, you can't give true consent under duress or coercion. So no. The act needs to stop completely and the threat needs to be fully removed before real consent can be established.

  • No, it can't.

And I find it genuinely fucking frightening that such a large percentage of the male responses here believe otherwise. That's fucked up.

  • Fantasies and realities are VERY different from each other. Any man that put a yes to that question is a disgusting human being in my opinion. Rape is rape. It will NEVER be consensual.

    • what about trolling

    • @BertMacklinFBI Trolling isn't funny when it comes to this shit. If you think it's okay to "troll" about rape, then there is something wrong with you.

    • now when you say "you"... do you mean me? D:

  • Is it possible? Yes.
    Is it likely? No.

The difference is. . . it is possible that Martians will land in my back yard tonight. Do you want to wait up with me to offer them milk and cookies after they land?

    • sir, you must be a teacher, you're good at explaining things

    • @but_Why I appreciate the compliment! Actually, I am an attorney, but I have taught paralegals and I do train younger attorneys on the subject of probate practice.

    • glad that you're using your talent (y)

  • thats one really ugly hypothesis you have here. (just like if the victim orgasms it doesn't make the rape any less crimeful)
and as someone already said, people who think this is true probably haven't been touched non consensually. its just uncomfortable and you get really mentally stressed (not even talking about actual rape yet..)
    Therefore.. NO

  • The poll is disturbing.

    • Thought the same when I saw it

  • Rape fantasies aren't like real rape at all. And you can't turn rape into consensual. What if a guy shoved something up you and then you stated enjoying it? Would it be consensual?

  • rape is rape

  • Only in porno

  • That would surprise me.

  • Uh, no. Don't rape women. Period.
If she's not into you move on. Forcing yourself on someone else is sick and depraved.

  • Didn't you ask this yesterday?

Anyway, yes. It happens. I've changed my mind mid coitus.

  • These poll results are disgusting.

  • It's how I turned gay

  • HAHA, no.
I saw something like this in a 1960's movie, where the guy was sexually assaulting a girl and it turned in to sex.
I know that does not happen IRL.

  • I highly doubt women would have rape fantasies or get pleasure out of being dominated when they're that young...

    • Studies show about 50% of women have rape fantasies. Women like to be dominated not this equality crap which is why a lot of guys are failing with women today.

    • At any age? Than why are there billions of girls on GaG alone preaching about their rights to being equal if most of them want to be dominated?

    • What women say and what they actually want are very too different things. Hell, many feminist who preach about equality like to be dominated and abused by masculine men when they want sex (tinder study 2015) and when they want relationship will pick a dostile and meek beta male to be their husband/bf. Women want to be dominated. This is why they are often attracted to men stronger, taller and who have more power than them.
