From what I understand, the anus does not produce it's own lubrication. However, when my girlfriend and I have anal sex without a condom, I can definitely "feel" something is lubricating down there. Yes, the anus can produce what is you call lubricant. It's actually intestinal mucus and the lining of the intestines is where it comes from. Remember, you need something to allow the waste to come easier. Some people (including men) have more than the majority of people and it seems like a lubricant was used.
