Girls, What do you think of prostitutes?

It is a fact that prostitutes do exist in every society, and that many men have used their services once in their life time, even the most shy or the most moralist.

I was in this long term relationship where my SO actually was PRO prostitution, as she regarded it as a good thing for society. She thought that many men who could not otherwise have a healthy, normal sexual life, could find sexual relief using these services. And she thought that these men, without prostitutes, could constitute a risk due to harassment or rape to other women. She had a valid point, I believe.

Also, in cultures such as the Japanese one, having sex for money is not considered an infidelity. Apparently they regard that men have sexual urges that are not necessarily related to their emotional ones. I don't agree with this theory, as I do get involved emotionally with sexual intercourse.

So these are the questions:

(1) Would you consider cheating your SO banging a prostitute? Would it be more painful and/or harder to swallow for you that he cheated with a prostitute or on a one night stand with a regular woman?

(2) Do you actually think prostitutes are not only a sexual service for men, but also can constitute a service for society? Or do you think their activity is inmoral and should be banned?

(3) Have you ever met a prostitute, or have been friends with one (wether you knew it or not at the time) and how do you feel about them?

  • If my boyfriend had sex with a prostitute I would definitely still consider it cheating. However it would be more painful for me if he had a one night stand because a prostitute does it for money because its her job. In a one night stand you never really know what feelings were involved.

What a prostitute does is her own business and I don't judge but I wouldn't say that they are a good service for the society. Some men are too picky when it comes to women.

My friend's mom is a prostitute even though she won't admit it but its quite obvious. I treat her mother for what she is, a human being. What she does to bring bread to the table is not my business but its not something I would applaud. I know there are better options for her but she chose the easy way.

    • I agree with your opinion. 100%. If male prostitution was actually something that women made use of as much as men do of female prostitution, and my SO had sex with a male prostitute... it would hurt for sure and I would consider it cheating. But also, as you mention, the emotional involvement is obviously different and less threatening to the relation. Yet if he/she needed to use sexual services outside the commitment of a relationship, many questions will still arise. Thanks for your answer.

  • I used to be one and I did it for the money. I also don't think they are bad people it was a fantasy I had because the guy was a pimp and once I fulfilled that fantasy I veered off to my normal life like it never happened. Hopefully when I get married ny husband don't cheat on me with one to fulfill a fantasy I can't fulfill

    • I'm quite confident that your sexual expertise, which comes together in the profession of prostitution with a high degree of empathy towards males and our basic emotinal needs (as you know, many males hire prostitues just to talk) will render good results in keeping him meek, gentle and fulfilled. Also, I believe your former professione gives you a clear advantage on understanding men in their most primal, basic state of mind, and differenciate between those who are simple misogen assholes and those who despite their sexual appetite are faithful, loyal and caring.

  • I think its futile to have laws prohibiting people - consenting adults no less - from doing they want when they want. Doesn't matter if its drugs, alcohol or sex.

Big Brother needs to mind it's own business

    • True that. Although my question actually was fairly more complicated than what was stated in the headline, I totally share your opinion.

    • 1) Of course it's cheating. 2) No, it is not a 'service' to society. Rape is an act of control, anger and violence - Prostitutes do not serve as an outlet. I think is it amoral, and should not be banned. 3) I have known a girl who did that. I just went about my business like I always do. To each their own.

    • we have a similar view on this matter...

  • prostitution is fine with me. I mean girls and guys get to have a little fun and the girl gets paid for doing a service for a guy who's willing to pay instead of force and rape.

  • Prostitution is going to happen whether we like it or not, we should just make it legal so we can do it safely. Make sure there's not STDs going around or other things.

    • Agreed. The main problem around prostitution is actually the fact that it is illegal in most countries, which leads to many humanitarian abuses, and health concerns. Although this was not my question as I developed it, your answer is intelligent and diserves attention.

  • Well i am a prostitute myself and i think we have been doing a great good to society tbh
