Guys, My boyfriend has used prostitutes before. Is it a red flag?

My boyfriend recently told me that he has used prostitutes before we met. He says he only did it once and that it was many years ago but I am not sure if this is true. I don't really know what I think because I just don't know if this is normal for guys. Are there certain types of guys who visit prostitutes or do most guys try it out at some point in their lives? Is it a red flag? If they have used them before are they likely to do it again when they are married or can it simply be something they tried when they were young and that's it? Do guys typically continue to use prostitutes if they have done so in the past? I don't really care that he did it in his past, I am just concerned what it might mean in the future.

  • No, don't worry about it. Actually, prostitution is much more common than you might think. Let's do some math:

according to my google search, there are about 42 million prostitutes world wide. On any given night, about 1/4 of them will be off due to menstruation and perhaps another 1/4 are taking the day off. This leaves about 21 million hookers working on any given night.

Now, how many men will a hooker screw on any given night? 4? 5? If it's five, this means 105 million men are visiting hookers each night. Over the course of a month, that is well over 3 billion, meaning the average man will visit a whore about 11 or 12 times per year.

Personally, I visit prostitutes about 2 or 3 times a week and see nothing wrong with being a prostitute or visiting them. In fact, I would have no qualms about dating or even marrying a prostitute.

I've been in a committed relationship for ten years and my girlfriend is aware of my prostitution fetish and is fine with it because it leaves her free to have a little something on the side.

  • There is a type of guy who goes to prostitutes throughout their lives, largely I think because they simply do not find women interesting as individuals.

However, I do not think that a single encounter while young means anything. There are. many circumstances in which going to a prostitute is encouraged at early stages of a man's life, however repugnant we may feel the practice is.

  • If he has used prostitutes then he hasn't done it just once.

  • I can't speak from experience. But I would be concerned about catching an STD. So I wouldn't suggest sleeping with him for a couple of months, and insist that he get checked and is clean.

  • Hi,
I feel mostly a guy does this bcz either he is just hit by puberty and he his just excited and curious. Other scenario is when a guy is well mature and he dont have anyone to share his physical love and frustrated that he is not able to satisfy his needs. He initially try out to be in relation and when nothing goes right, he just feels prostitution is easy way.
Few exception cases exist but i feel the main reason are above two

  • Yes it is.
    He needs to go.
You don't want to end up like my aunt and uncle. Let's ask them... Oh... we can't... they're dead... from AIDS.

  • So he paid for it. Why does that matter unless you were expecting a virgin? I don't see anything abnormal about it. Especially considering every guy pays for pussy, if not with cash then with time and non-cash gifts. Hell I still rent a whore on occasion from Backpage and Relax2U since that's cheaper than taking the time (my time is valuable to me) to buy her dinner and possibly get nothing.

  • if you fuck a stripper because you gave her $200 for lap dances with a $200 tip is that a prostitute?

    • Wait does that actually work?

    • if you have enough money anything will work

    • paying for sex in general is a form of prostitution, legally, at least in most countries that's how prostitution is defined

  • The past is the past.

  • No if it was a long time ago and he hasn't for a long time then I wouldn't be worried. I'd appreciate the honesty probably

  • in my honest opinion it's a red flag that someone is lacking confidence and more then likely has self esteem issues. does it mean he will cheat on you with a prostitute in the future more then likely not. maybe he is happy now that he has found someone and doesn't feel he needs to involve himself with that stuff anymore. I'd give him a chance and see where it goes. best of luck.

  • it's not a red flag, especially if he came out and told You. it's never good to assume what he could be doing or could have done. trust goes a long way, just talk to him and make sure he knows you want to understand how he thinks
