Do you see/feel a colour in certain situations? I see yellow when I orgasm, and other colours in specific actions?

Kind of weird but it's been on my mind for awhile... when I orgasm I see yellow - not full blocks but like a filter over my vision for a minute or two. I get purple when I listen to emotional piano instrumentals, a musk pink when my dogs do something really sweet and I feel lucky to have them, orange when my husband uses my washer in the shower and I want to nipple cripple him... like they're all such specific scenarios but my vision and down the back of my neck just FEEL like there is a colour there.
Does anyone else associate a completely unrelated subject to a specific scenario? Or have I got like a tumor or something 😂

It sounds like you might may have synesthesia. Basically your mind associates certain sensations with another. I wouldn't say it's normal, but it isn't unheard of. I don't think it requires a medical professional, but you can go to them if you're worried.
In truth I am a little jealous of you, because I kind of want to know what it is like (granted that is out of curiosity, I don't know if it is good or not)

From what I understand it's definitely rare. To those that don't know about it, it could sound stupid, but it is a real thing. I don't think it makes you crazy though. If you don't mind, I would love to hear more about it. I have wanted to know what it is like and is it a nuisance or just kinda there? I will answer any question you want in return if you want.

I don't even know if that's what it is, and I'm always against self diagnosis lol. But the colour thing is always there. There isn't always a colour, it seems to be with a specific emotional response but I don't know if my emotion is driven by the colour or vice verse

That is a fair assessment. Self diagnosis can be very dangerous, and even if I was a specialist on the matter (I am most definitely not), I couldn't diagnose you over a forum, but it does make sense though. So wait do you always see a color depending on your mood/emotion or only in those specific situations?

Only the specific situations, but there are a lot of them and the colours are different shades for different things. So my happy dog thing is like a musk pink, but when my husband does something nice for me it's like a fuscia pink. When I feel blessed to have my mum it's a pastel pink. 🤔 I think pink might be my "feeling lucky/blessed" colour now I write it down

If I were to guess, since it's been going on a long time it's probably fine. If it just started that might be serious. Would you give it up if you could? I say that I am a bit jealous, but I don't know if it is actually something that I would want to give up once the novelty wears off.

Like with me i love the smell a woman puts off when she is sexually aroused. I don't mind the smell when she's on her period. So yes i believe our senses enhances when we are sexually aroused and or orgasm.

Some of it sounds really spot on... but others not so much lol. Like time doesn't make me think of a clock, it looks like cylinders for every hour that get smaller as time runs out until that hour is gone. The colour thing is the most distracting though. Interesting link, thanks!! 😊

I'm synesthetic. I always thought everyone else was, too. Like... how people turn down the volume of their music in the car when they're looking for a specific address/building/landmark? I thought they did that for the same reason why I would do it — because otherwise the music interferes with their visual field enough to disrupt that sort of perception of detail. I didn't realize that most other people WEREN'T like this until I was almost 30 years old. ... and I STILL have No. Fucking. Idea. why non-synesthetic people turn the music down when they're looking for stuff. WHY?

I'm right-everything'd... but most synesthetes are women, and a hugely disproportionate number are left-handed (not sure whether that's a majority, but it's much higher than the % of left-handers among the population at random) __ Also, if you are left-handed for **any** purpose, then, brain-wise, you're basically left-handed (in terms of organization/segregation/integration of cognitive functions). Right-handers tend to be absolutely right-handed all across the board (... and are also right-footed and right-eyed, about 95% and 90% of teh time), whereas left-handers tend to have a random mix of preferences for different things.

Wow I have heard of similar things but rarely. It really sounds like synesthesia, as someone has already mentioned. I have heard variations of this, like someone will taste a certain flavor in food and to them it tastes, "round" of "square" as they get a feeling for a shape. I've heard of musicians say they see colors with certain chords, etc. Interesting to hear this!
