There could've been a number of events/experiences that have altered/conditioned what you find attractive/appealing in the opposite sex. It goes all around from media to social to personal.
I personally think the evolution/biology reason is fucking stupid, if we're speaking in context that you live in a civilized society where what it takes to survive is to have money.
