A demisexual is a person who does not experience sexual attraction unless they form an emotional connection with someone. In general, demisexuals are not sexually attracted to anyone of any gender thus can not be considered straight or lesbian. However, when a demisexual is emotionally connected to someone else (whether the feelings are romantic love or deep friendship), the demisexual experiences sexual attraction and desire, but only towards the specific partner or partners.

It really depends. I have friends who are demisexual, and that's alright. I know that I, myself don't really look at other people in a sexual way other than if I know them or have seen them a lot. I may be demisexual, but I would rather do without a label like that, and it doesn't really fit me well.

It has nothing to do with liking a gender. It has to do with when you're ready to have sex. I only like guys, making me straight. I'm not interested in having sex with anyone unless I love the person and have been with them a while, making me demisexual.

But you aren't sexually attracted to gender specific traits, since it's the non physical that makes you want to have sex, the possibility exists that you could feel sexually attracted to a women.

Considering I'm completely turned off at the thought of being with a girl, both romantically and sexually, should be a telltale sign I'm at least straight. It's kinda like this in my thoughts: Straight, bisexual, gay/lesbian, and pansexual are determinations of who you're attracted to. Asexual and demisexual are a determination of how you're attracted to them. So they can go hand in hand.
