What makes a girl a "slut" or "whore"?

A slut is someone who enjoys sex for it's own sake, rather than as an adjunct to some other relationship. A whore is a professional who accepts money in exchange for sex. Not all sexual acts for money are whoring, though; the courts have ruled that acting, therapy, and other services that may have a component of sex, but for which it is not the primary purpose, is not in fact whoring. Escorts are paid for time, porn stars for acting, etc. Most whores are not, in fact, sluts at all.

Neither word is exclusive to women. Most people use both words in a derogatory sense, to demean or degrade thee person it's applied to. It says more about the user than the object, though.

Really the words are just insults used to attack and degrade women who enjoy sex. Most people associate have casual sex as sluty or whorish. Others believe if a woman cheats in her relationship she is considered a whore or slut, which if anything is the most acceptable reason to call someone those words.

A slut is a girl who has sex with multiple partners in a short proximity. A whore sleeps with people for personal gain. Essentially any woman who is in high position in a business or organisation.
