Is a girl's moaning during sex simply beyond her control?

So this has plagued my mind for as long as I can remember. I hear about girls having to resort to placing a pillow over their mouths to drown out the moans because no other remedy will work. Is what you're feeling really THAT pleasurable? And they seem to do it even when they're not having an orgasm.

Why are girls able to keep silent while masturbating yet as soon as they're having the real thing it suddenly turns into a screaming match?

For me, I love sexual pleasure so much that I can't get enough of it. Yet, moaning has never been an inextricable component of that. There is heavy breathing and some soft moaning at best, but never something to make the neighbours jealous (in fact, my very best orgasms were completely silent).

What is it about sex that makes girls so vocal? Expectation from porn? To get the guy more aroused? To make him cum instantly? Or simply because it feels too good? Can you not suppress it if you tried?
