Officially the definition of sodomy was 'any sex act not designed to procreate', but people think sodomy just means anal.
Vaginal sex between a heterosexual couple is sex designed to procreate, everything else was just for pleasure. The Catholic Church forbade the use of contraception so people had to find things to do when they didn't want children.

If you are intimate with someone physically you have crossed a boundary line that you can never, ever go back across. It doesn't matter what you did, or whether it can be labelled as 'sex'. I'm not sure why you're asking the question, but if I have a partner and she performs any sex type act with someone else, I'm not worrying about if it's defined as sex, I'm worrying about her integrity and moral compass.
I understand why you are saying, "I'm not sure why you're asking the question?", since you are not from the US. When I was born the US President was "Bill Clinton". He was having a young intern provide him with oral sex in the White House, among other girls as well, and said, when confronted about it that..."I never had sex with that woman!". She then produced a dress with his semen on it to prove it, so when asked why he lied about it, he said he didn't lie since he never had vaginal intercourse with her as oral sex was not sex he said. Since then boys have been telling girls all over the US that it is ok to have oral, anal or manual sex because the president said it is not sex. It seems lots of people on here are asking similar questions because they are trying to work out a personal problem, but I really wasn't assuming about your situation, merely realising that I might be able to give a more helpful opinion if I need the background context :) As for Presidents, Prime Ministers and other such swivel-eyed dignitaries, I wouldn't trust a word the squirming little buggers say xD

So, it really comes down to whether you consider sodomy to be sex. In statute definitions, it is considered a sexual act, therefore, I consider it sex.
Ok, so I have a real problem with this topic, I did a lot of foreplay and oral stuff before I actually had official intercourse. Actually I first had sex with a girl. And I considered that loosing my virginity. A lesbian actually told me once that because I had never penetrated I was still virgin. And I responded, have you ever had sex with a guy? No. Do you think you’ll ever have sex with a guy? No. So you’ll just be a virgin until you die? No! in short I believe you can lose your virginity lots of ways
Oral vaginal & anal are three different kind of sex. Traditionally vaginal penetration was called sex. Vaginal & anal sex are still called as penetrative sex whereas oral & masturbation is an act of receiving or giving sexual pleasure 😊

I mean any kind of sex is still sex. I mean anal "sex "is sex. Oral "sex" is still sex. That's just how I view things though but it's pretty clear what is and what isn't.
I think any sex that ends on orgasm is sex, but consider anal forcing woman that's closer to rape. Sex is always when 2 people agree to what they do, the form of is just a flavor

Sex to me is any stimulation of the genitals that involves at least another person. Masturbation isn't sex, but fingering or hand jobs would be to me.

In reality any consented sexual relation is by definition "sex". The concept has evolve.
Before, having sex was linked only to vaginal sex, it had a reproductive cognotation. There wasn't an effective way to avoid unwanted pregnancy and much less to avoid a STD. All that made holly the status of been virgin and sacred the act of having sex since it involved also marrying, having a family, been a parent in the name of God or the gods.
