Is tucking your erection into your waistband common?

Question

To keep the question short, I wanted to know whether it was a common thing to to this among guys and whether or not you'd want to be told by someone, specifically a girl, if it had become visible by your shirt riding up a little.

For context there's a guy I'm friends with and while together at university, I noticed something poking out of his waistband. It was only on looking closer I realised what it was, and looking around it seemed nobody else had seen it.
Unsure what to do I nudged him, and pointed down, to which he responded by adjusting it and covering it but he never said a word about it and neither did I.
I'm not sure I did the right thing by pointing it out and embarrassing him, maybe I should have left him to figure it out himself. Either way it's the first time I've ever come across this as a thing so I'm curious about how common it is, and whether I made the right decision.

usually, I just stay seated. If I must move, I don't bother to hide it. I assume no one is looking unless they want to.

But, if it was ever poking out of the top of my waistband, I would prefer a girl tell me over a guy. Although, I can't imagine that happening by accident. We can usually tell when it's exposed to open air.

He clearly didn't know it was out, could have saved him a trip to jail yeah you definitely did the right thing even if he was embarrassed. It's a relatively normal method of trying to hide an erection if you happen to get one in public places.

There's really no way of hiding it completely, so I usually tuck it down the leg. People can still see it, but only if they look, it doesn't catch attention like a shirt hanging out

Ya being 9 i know this pain... how bad it feels to adjust it nd how uncomfortable it is to manage if you are especially sitting in tighter conditions... it gives such a feeling when glans is touching something nd pressing it in forcefully hurts more.. and yes many of girls pointed it to me and i thank them for helping it... coz its really natural..
