My father is very very strict and religious. One time I went to the store wearing a shirt that exposed my shoulders and he gave me a lecture alluding to the fact that if I were to get sexually assaulted it would be because of my choice of clothing. Another time he implied that people would think I was a whore for going to the movies with someone of the opposite sex. As you can imagine he’s very strict about sexual behavior ESPECIALLY premarital sexual relations. A long time ago, when I was maybe 17, I went on a trip with my parents and at the time boyfriend. We had this large van with two rows of seating, and a futon like seat in the back which is where my ex and I sat on the drive home. Not sure what I was thinking, but for whatever reason I thought I could sneak a kiss without my parents noticing. Before long it was like I had forgotten where I was because next thing you know my ex and I were in a heated make out session. I’m talking neck kissing, hand down my shirt, tongue type shit — all with my parents still in the front seat. I guess I thought I got away with it, because for the entire day my dad didn’t mention anything. Nothing about his mood had changed and his demeanor towards my ex was cool as a cucumber. The next day my dad insisted on driving me to school and right as I was about to exit the car he went into kidnapper mode and locked the doors. Then he proceeded to give me an incredibly awkward talk about how he saw my ex and I doing stuff the day before. He didn’t tell me what he saw or how much he saw, but the thought that he could of possibly seen ALL of it was enough to make me shrivel up inside like a ball sac on a cold day. I’m 21 now and when I think about it I still get mad second hand embarrassment. It makes me cringe to know that my dad saw me in that light. Any one else have to deal with this embarrassment?

As a kid yes that's happened a few times.

My daughters are 20 & 23 now and their mother and I made sure we didn't have any embarrassing moments. Basically we knew that kids will be kids so we let the girls have their space. We set rules about when boys could come over and enforced them. But they reached a certain age (16) and there wasn't much we could do to enforce them. Basically we realized they can go to places that are unsafe or they can have some quiet time in their room alone with the door shut. In their teen years we set a 10 minute time limit. Now I take my youngest daughter to get her birth control pills. Yeah, I don't know what's worse honestly.

How you gonna be that strict on your kids and then let them have boyfriends and girlfriends. That would only exacerbate matters. I also don't understand when kids with strict parents do the exact opposite of what they're told and then be all surprised that they've angered their parents.

I am lucky to have escaped that type of embarrassment. How ever my cat embraced the shit out of me. It dug in my trash and found a used condom from the night before my girlfriend and I had sex. My mom yelled for me and that was not like her. I went running upstairs. The cat left the used condom on the kitchen floor. I seen it and tossed it into the trash. When i was 12 i had no idea about masturbation, so i was trying out humping my dresser but it would fall over so I'd taken a plastic garbage can and used it as a support against the botton drawer handle.
