I agree to some extent. Because I do agree it could be use as a resource, as females, due to their nature, tend to be more selective with partners and therefore beign more selective makes it harder to get sex from them making female sexual offers more valuables for the opposite sex than the other way.

However, I must say that the looks are an important factor, making it easier or impossible to get to a sex exchange. According to how gorgeous is the girl and how handsome is the guy can make it easy for a girl, possible, impossible or even invert the roles. If a guy is so handsome and the girl is average or under average is possible to get that inverse situation that will lead us to roles like male prostitutes or gigolo.

Also sex is first a human necessity. So many times girls offer sex to... Just get sex.

In conclusion, I agree the situation stayed is probably the most common, girls beign the ones beign able to use sex as a resource, but no necessarily is always like that, as we humans are awesomely complex.

There's more to life then this, but that's one part of the model. Basically wombs are a lot more scarce than sperm. Very high quality sperm is a little rare, but average sperm there's an abundant oversupply.

Agree somewhat. But it's more like each party is trying to get the best they can. Women don't just want "resources in return for sex". They want to find a man who has good genes, is a good partner, and will be a good father to their children. Because women have all these other concerns, they will be a lot more selective than men regarding who they mate with. Men sort of want to spread their seed, because that makes sense as a strategy for us. But of course we also prefer more attractive women. It's just that we're more focused on looks, because that is a sign of good genes, and if you're spreading your seed, good genes is your primary concern. The same is actually true for women seeking short-term relationships (e. g. one-night stands). They become pickier with regards to looks in those situations.
