Is there a difference between a "nice harmless pervert" and a "Creepy pervert"?

I been told a few times that i am one of the "good" ones and i am a "nice harmless pervert" but i am just as (i think more so) perverted than a lot of other men, so what is the difference? why are women okay to talk to some one like me, and not put off, but are put off by some of the guys who are not as bad?

... although this might not be the case after this post :D

  • If you seem like you're hiding an uncontrolled rage or dark secret, that's creepy. Creepyness means women fear danger, to a large extent. So yes, that can include being overly aggressive, but seeming inappropriately nervous can seem creepy (like why is he nervous? Is it because he's afraid he's got a pit in his basement he's going to throw me in so he can fatten me up and make a suit out of me?). So is seeming unaware of normal social conventions because it makes them concerned he'll violate other rules.

So being cheerfully, perverted, not pushy, and seeming very comfortable and open will tend to seem less creepy, then being less perverted but acting like you're keeping it all in.

    • A malice behind it all... I think that's true. It's interesting as well that all the guys so far to reply are not the creepy type from what I seen.

  • Nice harmless pervert = Bruce Banner
    Creepy pervert = Tony Stark

    • Hahaha I like that 😂

  • I think it have to do with physical attractiveness. Like some girls don't mind if the guy is a perv if they find him attractive but would find it creepy if they found the guy unattractive.
Others than that I can't really see why some perv would be called good and others creepy.

    • Hmm interesting, that's a bit different to what others have said but totally valid like in twilight

    • Thanks for the MHO :)

  • yes there is as far as when you chat with a girl a little flirting or even sexting can be fun but when they get pushy or won't back off then it crosses the line

    • I see.. yes i am very passive person, i just let the conversation go where it goes. Its interesting as i have seen conversations men have with women online (through here and female friends) and its quite shocking the things they say

    • as u can see im very open and will answer most anything its just when they push for personal info like my number fb or stuff like that i shy away because of what happened when i was younger

    • To be honest i would do the same... i have a rule which is "every one online is a 50 year old balding guy living in their parents basement" and i treat them like that until i know otherwise :) i dont trust any one online and i wouldn't expect any one to trust me. You are doing the right thing for sure :)

  • Oh, it's common to jokingly call people perverts if they are just sexual.

    • I like to think that's the case with me 😣😂

  • If you aren't intentionally causing harm to someone, killing anyone, invading anybody's privacy to the point where you are living in their back garden watching them through their windows at night... then you are a harmless pervert. I love a good old harmless pervert ^_^

    • Phew.. Thank you. I will stop using that Bush to hide

  • Regardless of the difference, I really think you should try to drop the label “pervert” from others description of you.

    • Thank you, that's kind of you to say. I think I just heard it for so many years now I just accepted it 😐 I guess am trying to own it

  • I guess the difference is you don't try to pressure anyone into doing sexual stuff with you.

    • Thank you... i think :s haha

  • I think that it depends on the pervert in question, I have been around perverts that were very kind and decent people, then I have seen ones who are very indecent, so it all depends (I'll admit I actually kind of like good-hearted female perverts.)

    • Oh yeah female pervs are the best! i have a few real life ones, its great we buy each other weird shit (like ball gags and strap ons for Christmas... she said her husband liked the ball gag but was not fond of the strap on...) .

    • I wonder why...😉

  • Nice harmless - makes sexual jokes /comments but would respect a no. Creepy doesn't respect a no and makes others uncomfortable

    • I am getting the feeling it's pretty much some one you would think would not act on what they say... 😊

  • They're only different in the perverts mind

  • I would say im extra sexual but if you view me as a pervert then that's on you

  • I don't think of a difference. Both are turn offs for me. I don't get as "on defence" we'll say, if he's not flirting with minors and if he's an adult, that's not good.
