A young man has hidden the identity of his girlfriend from his family over fears they won't accept the fact that she's transgender.

Dale Brink, 23, fell in love with 21-year-old Hannah Whetton. But Dale, from Doncaster, South Yorks, feels that his mother and brother won't understand the bond he shares with his partner of 18 months.

Hannah, who was born Aaron, began her transition into womanhood five years ago, and has spent £13,000 on gender reassignment surgery.

Dale, who's a waiter, met and fell in love with Hannah 18 months ago, and the pair quickly became an item - before she had fully completed her gender transition.

Hannah splashed out £3,200 on a nose job abroad to make her face more feminine and has invested £3,000 in her wardrobe of clothes for her new life.

She has known she wanted to be a girl since she was just five years old, but she waited ten years before finally telling her mother Carol, 46, a cleaner.

She said: 'When I was five I remember sitting in the bath with my older sister and noticing we had different bits, but I felt like a girl too.

'Even though I was young, I felt exactly the same as my sister and believed I was a girl. So our physical differences confused me.'

Hannah says that when she started senior school, all her friends were girls and she was constantly battered with 'gay boy' and other slurs by class bullies.

I'd say it depends.

I'd say you get all types.
A man who could or would have sex with a full blown man. A man with a beard, muscles, hairy legs, deep voice named Gary.

He would be gay.

Some that are bi. They'd have sex with a transgender woman and in some cases a full blown man and than he still is sexually attracted to women.

Some are straight. They are repulsed by men or the thought of kissing and being intimate with a full blown man. They are repulsed by most transgender women (physically) because they still give off some hard masculine vibes, strong jaw line, 5 o'clock shadow growing... they just look like men who put on makeup. However, a really feminine transgender who gives off tons of feminine qualities and could probably pass for a woman and many wouldn't even suspect she wasn't born a woman. A guy who is attractive to women and only really feminine, pretty transgender ladies but would strongly resist a man or a manly transgender I'd say he is straight.

Having been with women and trans women they still smell like dudes post op unfortunately, so pheromone wise they seem to still be male. I’d say if you’re sleeping with another person with the same chromosomes as you is a homosexual act. Not that there’s anything wrong with being gay or being into trans women. Each to their own.

He’s gay I don’t care how much you change you still a man if you transgender male because you may cut your thing off and grow long hair and have surgeries but your body is still a man your genes your organs tou DNA is still a man you can have kids no matter how much a woman you want to be because you are a male on the inside. The answer to the question becomes blurry when it comes to trans people. If you are dating a trans female and you consider her to be a female regardless of what is between the legs then you are probably straight. If she started out with male genitals and didn't get them changed until after you started dating you are probably still straight. If you touched her their to please her you still are most likely straight. But perhaps if you are touching her not because she wants to but you enjoy touching her male genitals then maybe you are gay or bi but more than likely bi.

I'm pretty open but if it's pre op it's pretty gay. I don't believe that a woman can have a penis or a man can have a vagina and they are still in a heterosexual relationship. Post op all bets are off.

He is not gay. Gay men like gay men. At most I would say bisexual. He is attracted to the transgender woman because she looks like a woman... not cause well the DNA... yadda yadda yadda. If I hookup with a transgender man. I am not a lesbian now. Bisex perhaps.

gay, cause they're having sex with a man pretending to be a woman. this is not meant in a offensive way, that's just rationally paraphrased what a transgender is. mind you idefine "having sex with someone that has the same as your genital" as gay. my definition of gay doesn't care for gender roles.

If its to live an experience but doesn't happen again its straight... if like me you like to do it occasionnaly its bi, and if the guy needs a penis to be excited then its gay
