Well, it's not like we actually feel the blood plasma seeking into the vagina through the vaginal walls. We only experience the wetness when it gets into the vulva. I think it's more a matter of "I'm aroused enough to be wet and that itself arouses me even more".
Some women, especially those who take certain medications, may not get really wet with arousal.
And of course, women are naturally wet all the time, to a certain extent, some women more than others.

No. The fluid that increases inside the vagina to lubricate for penetration is mostly blood plasma, plus whatever materials are in the vagina, which can sometimes include mucus, to make the moisture more viscous. There's also the Bartholin's glands inside, inside the labial folds, below the vagina, also produces more lubricating fluid.

i agree with some earlier replies... the arousal is what’s pleasurable. Getting wet isn’t something you even notice is happening on its own because it’s part of the arousal. And there’s varying degrees... the more aroused, the wetter. It’s sort of like your period, you don’t actually feel the discharge itself but the cramps and bloating.
