Have you ever ejaculated without orgasmic pleasure?

In response to another one of my polls about orgasm frequency (vote here), a guy commented saying that he ejaculates very easily, but rarely orgasms. I've read that this is called "ejaculatory anhedonia". I was wondering how common it is?

(I'll leave the poll open for girls too. In girls' case, base it off of female ejaculation/squirting without accompanying orgasm).

  • As someone mentioned, ejaculation and orgasm are two different things for me, which are often mistaken for the same thing due to their close link.

However, mistaking them for the same thing is like saying milk and cookies are the same, because you often consume them together.

I'd say ejaculation is primarily mechanical, it has a little bit of inbuilt pleasure but it's not the same as an orgasm; which is why it's possible to "ruin an orgasm" by causing an ejaculation without reaching climax.

I couldn't say about frequency though. It's not 100% but I've never paid enough attention to even attach a guesstimate.

  • Happens to be on occasion, usually if I'm interrupted and have to stow my equipment back in my boxers quickly. Also sometimes happens if I just want a quick (less than two minute) session with myself.

    • Is it still satisfying if you don't orgasm?

    • Definitely not as satisfying at all. It is satisfying to my body, releasing pent up sexual drive, but mentally that same feeling just isn't there as it is if I do actually orgasm.

  • Ok, so very rare for a man to be able to ejaculate without the pleasurable feelings. It (generally) requires the pleasurable neurological response to trigger the contractions that cause the ejaculation.

Whereas most anything people refer to as "squirting" in women is almost entirely unrelated to orgasm, or even sexual pleasure.

    • 53% of the men said that they have experienced ejaculation "without orgasmic pleasure". Pleasure isn't vital for a man to ejaculate.

    • A perception of pleasure, and the actual neurological response required to bring about ejaculation are different. Having an orgasm that just wasn't all that great is not the same thing as not actually having an orgasm. I'm simply telling you how the neurological process works. Perception can often be somewhat skewed. People are often not good judges of what is happening neurologically during arousal and orgasm, because we do a very poor job of educating society on these things. With many of these survey questions you're asking, you're getting responses that are more about what people think than what is actually occurring in a neurological sense. It almost always requires a certain amount of pleasurable stimulation to cause the neurological event of ejaculation, regardless of how strongly pleasurable the orgasm feels.

    • This question isn't about neurology, but about pleasure experienced during ejaculation.

  • I don't ejaculate but I've definitely orgasmed and was left like "But... was it really an orgasm?"

I've totally went second round or third because it wasn't strong enough or I didn't feel enough.

  • I dont ejaculate. I urinate.

  • Every once in awhile, the juice just comes loose. Almost exclusively, though, it's pleasurable.

  • It happens to me during prostate release... I call the trifecta because I usually get back to back to back orgasms.

  • Nope

  • Never. Never heard of that.

You know a lot about sex for a virgin.

    • I have Aspergers which (among other things) includes becoming obsessed with specific topics. One of mine is learning about human sexuality.

    • Awesome!! I knew a guy who had Asperger’s in high school. He was obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons.

    • lol. hahahaha. Princess

  • Sorry! the one vote on "Always or almost always. I only orgasm during 0-4% of my ejaculations" is mine and its by mistake..
    I'm sorry again!!

  • @mistix : I can thankfully say that I have never ejaculated without orgasmic pleasure --- every single time I ejaculate from masturbation or being sexual with a girl I orgasm and experience amazingly beautiful sensations of sexual pleasure

  • When I masturbate I have most intense orgasms followed by mind blowing ejaculations of my hot load of cum that I shake I thrust my hip before I cum and I almost pass out when I cum! Feels sooo good to masturbate it feel sooo awesome when I cum all over my hard cock! Yes I love to masturbate & I love to cum!!

    • You're full of lies. Males don't experience an extremely intense orgasms. Lol. They think they are. But if you were a woman, I can guarantee you would actually experience an other worldly mind numbing orgasms and it would be longer and come in multiples. Now THAT'S really true incredible pleasure.

  • Only happened couple times when I had sex multiple times in a day.

  • Rarely, and when i do its by design 9/10 times and called a ruined orgasm. Those sometimes give me less pleasure, sometimes more but almost always will make me recover and be horny again much faster and while pleasurable don't give the same satisfaction. So its a great technique both as a punishment but also to keep me desiring sex more often and have the pleasure intensity stay up longer rather then regular orgasms where if done to often ill need a few days before i am at my most horny again.

  • I think it’s the same w girls. Girls that squirt aren’t necessarily orgasming and also girls that orgasm don’t have to squirt. Squirting is rare.

    • I think about 50% of girls squirt. I do it but only about 1/3 of the time and it's usually during oral sex.

  • The intensity of orgasmic pleasure is tied to contractions and volume.
OMG! 10 contractions.. a tablespoon of more..
Yeah, OK. Maybe 2 or 3... a few drops.

  • No when i ejaculate i always cum at the same time. One time
i took a medication called Mellaril well causes Males to ejaculate
without a orgasm i sure got off that medication.

  • Yes. Cuming and orgasming are not the same thing. Cuning is simply ejaculating while orgasm (or climaxing) is much more powerful mixed with emotion.

    • *cuming

  • I would say that's extremely rare.

    • Actually extremely common, even to my surprise

  • ejaculatory anhedonia - Not the case.. HONEY..
Your obsession went into wrong direction..
    Pleasure part is still there..
But achieving orgasm requires a certain amount of momentum developed by foreplay.. And lets just say..
It takes minimum 30 minutes and Edging For me to build that momentum..
And time range is increasing for everytime I do it.. Because mentally my mind is adapting to the stimulation..
Trying New techniques or random Stuff might work..
But I would prefer to have a partner now..
Because with that possibility are endless..

    Besides I have busy schedule..
Finding 1 Hr and that much energy to spill is jot something I can afford..
    Daily..
    But I need to relax..
And since I don't smoke.. Or drink.. Or use any other drug..
Rubbing off a Quickie.. Gives me Shot of Dopamine.. Which helps me get to sleep..
    And with Cumming as objective..
I think The Lost the BIG- O on my way somewhere
