What does it mean when guy comments on your lipstick?

What does it mean when a guys says something like I like the way your lipstick matches your dress or I noticed how your lipstick matches your dress. I got a lot of compliments on my outfit yesterday. Essentially, my male coworker came into my office and started talking to me. He asked me how was my recent vacation was, He asked me about my new apartment, how I'm liking the job so far etc. Then he made the comment I'm inquiring about. I can't fully remember if he specifically used the word "notice" or "like", but said the sentence in the following way: I like the way your lipstick matches your dress or I noticed how you lipstick matches your dress. I believe he said like.

Honestly, I thought it was an odd comment and told him "that's a very interesting observation". He then said to me if you need help with anything let me know and then he left the office. Mind you we don't hold the same position. He's an engineer and I am a secretary. How can you help me with my administrative responsibilities? He stopped by my office before leaving and made a comment to enjoy the holiday and see you later. As i was telling him bye i noticed he lingered a bit looking at me for awhile, and left possibly because I was saying bye. I should add that this guy has made a comment to me in the past about my hair looking beautiful and I have noticed he would watch me from the distance sometimes whenever he's around. Also, he always does these things when I'm alone.

Can't say, I wouldn't do it, I don't like it at all. Much prefer girls without it on.

If his compliment is genuine. He could just be saying it to say it. At one point he stopped talking to me for months so I find it odd he would come around now and give me that compliment. He would see me and say hi only to my much older coworker and ignore me. He would even stop coming into my office and hide behind the wall. It got to the point I didn’t like his game so I distance myself too from him. During this time, he still kept watching me from the distance, but whenever he was around I would be on the other side of the room or just leave. Then one day he just started talking to me again and coming into my office. Something suspicious about that. I’m sure there was someone else he was giving his attention to during that time. I guess I didn’t work out so now he’s coming back to me to see if I’m still “available”.

Maybe because he is seeing some Feminine features on you and it got his attention.. So he wants to make a move to see if he can still have u on his Bed.. But why don't u play along n use the "play hard to get tactics" rather than ignoring him..

What if he does this to girls all the time? I don’t feel like I’m the only one. I feel like he does it to me because he knows I’m sweet and kind, I hold a higher position, and he’s just testing the waters or playing games with me so to speak. if I can recall correctly I’ve overheard him give other people compliments too, but never one about a specific physical feature like lips. I have caught him watching me putting on lip balm before.
