I agree with your overall message…except that it depends on the country, in the USA, 4 - 4.5 is not small, below avg maybe but not small. 3 yes, but in Thailand 3 is only below avg so it varies. Only in places like Sudan where the median is supposedly close to 7 in, 4.5 would actually be statistically small
