How much do you typically spend on a bra?
As I've discussed, I haven't regularly worn bras since high school, and it was only recently while measuring my entire body that I realized that my actual bra size is a 28C instead of the 32A that I own.

I decided to go looking for a bra that's a 28C, but was shocked to see that most of them are at least $50. (I have no idea whether my current bras were that expensive because I haven't bought a bra since back-to-school shopping when I was like 16, back when my mom paid for my clothes.)
This 28C bra is literally $74... WTF?

This gif describes the day that I'll ever spend more than $20 on a bra:
Given these prices, anybody who expects women to always wear bras, needs to screw off.

I rarely wear bras anyway, so if I'm unable to find a reasonably priced 28C, I'll just keep wearing the 32As whenever a bra is necessary. (If anyone doesn't know, a 28C literally the exact same breast volume as a 32A, except it's on a thinner chest, hence the reduction from a 32 to a 28 - but the overall size is equivalent because the breast protrudes outwards a couple more inches than a 32A, hence the increase from an A to a C.)
The main difference between a 28C & 32A is that 28C has a thinner band & the cup protrudes more than the 32A.

So how much do you typically spend on an average bra? If anybody knows where to find 28C, 28B, or 30B bras that cost $20 or less, that would also be great :)

(I'll leave the poll open for guys too, in case they ever buy bras for themselves or others, LOL.)

  • I am a guy, but an extra curricular I partake in has a celebration every Tuesday called "Titty Tuesday" where all boys will wear a sports bra under their clothes just like women. It's fun and silly, but it shows us boys how horrible it is to wear a hot, sweaty, sticky bra. I decided it was a fun idea, so I head to my local Walmart and try on some bras. I measure myself and determine that I am a 36AA. After picking a fancy hot pink sorts bra, I check out and head home. The bra was about $12 + tax. Titty Tuesday was shut down by administrators very shortly after I had started participating. It is now my sister's favorite bra.

  • Look I have bought many bras in my lifetime. I have 6 daughters, a ex-wife and a wife. I guess I spent about 50 to 100 bucks per bra with current prices. But i have also paid less then 10 bucks. They all hate Wal-Mart bras. They call them garbage. So I get some here and some there.

  • I used the A option as I don't wear bra's however yes as a young girl my mother bought me bras and I have two in my dresser from years ago and not sure what i would have paid for them but you can bet it wasn't much.

  • It depends on the type of bra but for the most part, It can range from $20 to $30. A few below if I'm lucky.

    • Wow! I never knew they coast so much

  • 28C is a very rare size (in the UK anyway) I don’t think I’ve ever seen one... that’s probably why it’s so expensive

    • lol i bought a bra the other day and grabbed the wrong one somehow. it turned out being a US size 30F! i couldnt imagine being that skinny with breasts THAT big!

  • the last time I bought some bras was on zulily. com and it was like 29.99 for 6 bras.

  • I think if its going to last you then you should buy a good quality one that will look good and keep you going for a few years rather than a cheap one that looks a bit meh and your throwing out

    • Nobody's gonna see the bra

    • hmm okay well in that case i say just go for like a sports bra or something robust that is going to last you and take little maintenance.. although that depends on your size too of course

  • i never understood why people wanna reply to things that dont apply to them? (not specifically referring to guys here) just to the people who said "zero" when the question was "how much (implying a DOLLAR amount, and ZERO is the ABSENCE of an amount) do you TYPICALLY (implying youve done it MORE than once) on a bra"? i feel replying zero just means you have no useful input and just want attn!

  • Recently super cheap on clearance but in the past I got some expensive ones. I prefer the cheap ones honestly lol

  • Back when I was having my bras custom made (my bust being 34KK) I would regularly have to fork out anywhere between £75 to £100 per bra.
Since my BR last year and now being a 34DD, I spend no more than £30 on any of my bras.

    • How long were you a 34KK before your BR? Was that size due to pregnancy?

    • @AndyLakes Because of a hormone imbalance I was a 34KK when I was 20 - 21.

    • What size were they in the years before that? How quickly did they grow to 34KK?

  • I usually spend $20-$29 on bras but that’s only because I get them when they’re on sale. When they aren’t, they’re always upwards of $50 at the minimum.

  • Walmart has pretty cheap prices. They are under $20 and sometimes they have deals.

  • never got any for myself.

however when my ex went bra shopping I would often tag along. she liked my input on how the different styles fit her. typically I wanna say she / I spent about $40 a bra for her on average. But she would often wait for a good sale like (buy 1 get 1 free or buy 2 get 2 free). so really she got the for around half price $20 or so on average. however they would last her a decent while. give or take a year. she would typically get them from lane bryant or torrid.

  • I typically spend 4 hours on my phone

  • 50. And now 0 because I dont but them and dont wear them

  • I get mine at Victoria's Secret, most of the time they are 60$+ unless I find a good sale and the right size.

  • There are some Eastern European and Chinese bra makers that make inexpensive hard to find sized bras and sell them online at Amazon, etc. You may waste money trying out a lot of bras that don't fit and are hard to return. You may want to check out a website like bratabase and find someone your size twin there. You aren't going to have much luck at department stores and the Bali Outlet. You might have fun at a boutique store but you are going to pay $50 there easy.

  • I bought a magazine for £1.99 that had a cut-out bra on the middle page.
