Actually it's very common, even slang, but I would agree and prefer my woman just to call it what it is, a dick, a penis, a cock, but not to give it a (dreaded) nickname or pet name. For perspective, I'd call my woman's lady part, exactly what it's called, a vagina or her/your vagina. I wouldn't tell her i'm giving her vagina a nickname. It's just... cringe-worthy to me. Like, what's so wrong about saying vagina, especially in a relationship context to your significant other, or saying penis.
