I will be at an amateur showing in San Francisco in a couple of weeks with my sister and some of our friends at the Hump Film Festival.

It is like about 15 short home made amateur films, 5 minutes maximum for each, chosen from hundreds that they review every year. Many are just shot with cell phone cameras. How would you like to be one of the judges that goes through all those to select the best ones? ... lol

They give all audience members a sheet of all the film names and ask you to vote like 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices and drop it off on your way out. Then they award prizes to the best amateur porn films based on the audience votes. It is a lot of fun!

We have shot amateur porn many times but only for private use. Many of our friends want us to enter our films in this one, or other amateur contests, to see if one of ours would be selected. They think we would win first place... lol. I doubt it, and we do not aspire to become porn stars anyway, so it's like "No thank you" :)

I swear to god, I wish there were places to give suggestions to porn producers, directors and/or cameramen because, for the most part, they suck. It's like they just go to work and go through the motions, as if following directions for building the same model car every day.

I much prefer amateur stuff. The people are genuine. Most of the women seem to really like sex and their orgasms are authentic. A lot of professional porn stars are terrible. The men just do what they think will make the best video shot but sometimes, based on the way then behave, I wonder if they even like women or know what women like. And the professional women often look like cheep whores, saying stupid shit that they think men want to hear and acting like they are being ripped apart or orgasming when they are not. And then there are the fake tits and over done makeup.

Then they proceed to clips of various positions with too many close ups taken from low angles. I like when the camera moves around, and some close ups are fine, but they should show more full views of women's bodies - bouncing, sloshing tits, shuddering hips and thighs, etc. One angle that is almost never shown is of a woman's back, shot from above her head and pointing down toward her ass when she is on her knees with legs spread. A woman's narrow back flaring to soft, wide hips and round bottom; the dimples on her back; the way the fat of her ass bulges to crease where it meets her back; the crease where her thighs meet her hips. It's one of the sexiest things about women. POV shots from behind aren't the same, plus they are almost always to close to get a full view.
Effort should be made to keep hands, arms and legs from blocking the view.

I don't really care about story lines. When I watch porn it's to see beautiful female bodies and watch them move while they are being well fucked. And real orgasms are hot as hell.

The only downside to amateur videos is that the camera is usually static. Or it is hand held and gets POV shots from limited angles and too close.

Lastly, what the fuck is up with standardized convention of facials? They call it "the money shot" but I I think it's an anticlimax. Did anyone ever take a poll? What guy fucks a woman and then jerks himself off forever in order to get off? Are those guys gay or what? And the women is sitting there with her mouth open but the guy deliberately aims to shoot over her head, in her eyes and up her nose. We attended the 'Hump!' in Rhode Island back in '17. We had fun. We were inspired to submit our own films in '18 but my husband (who I wasn't married to yet) & Dan Savage had big phone & e-mail arguments that later turned into a feud that also involved Dan's husband which led to them dropping our entries from the '18 & '19 festival. I plan to submit "new" material (actually recorded in '19 & '20) for next year but we have yet to settle our differences with Dan and his husband. I will "by hook or by crook" attend next. I passed on this year due to Covid.
