if I hook up with someone and we both seemed to have enjoyed ourselves, but not in a way that seems like anyone could have pleased them just as well (either because they are desperate or because they don't care who they are with), I'll want to hook up with them again. If this persists it may as well just be a relationship.
The standard for a relationship is MUCH higher than for a hookup. The girl for a relationship must be very intelligent, very attractive, and have a great and connective personality.
The girl for a hookup has to be not ugly, not fat, and not perceived as a high risk of STDs.

I don't do hookups but I'm assuming that's part of it. I had a friend who said it was also physical attractiveness. He'd sleep with just about anyone but the girl had to be hotter for him to want to date her. That's not my thing though 🤷🏼♀️

I think a strong sense of self worth is important. A girl that will spread her legs for just any guy is going to be seen as just that, but a girl who makes it clear that she won't be used for quick pleasure is more desirable for a relationship.
