Do you agree that boys who lie about their feelings for a girl only for sex should be arrested for sexual assault?

I don’t know if any of you seen this tweet that’s been circulating around social media platforms but since this app won’t let me post the tweet. I’ll just type it out.

The tweet is by @sholeee_ and states: “Making a girl believe that you like them just so you can have sex with them should be classified as sexual assault. But no one is ready to have that conversation.”

I gave opinion on this and I disagree. This is a very dumb tweet in my opinion because while yes, it’s fucked up and scummy to lie to anyone for sex, I feel as long as both parties gave their consent, it shouldn’t be classified as sexual assault. Maybe the tweet should have more context or people are looking too deep into it but that’s my take. I want to know your take on it is

  • I mean if that is true than when a girl gives me signs in public she likes me and when I approach her for a date or to make conversation and then we get told we "misinterpreted" her signs when reality is she did it just for her to get chased and to boost her self esteem. Then clearly we need to change the definition of rape. However as a lawyer 1) we're not going to change legislation for two completely different things and join them into one. Those are two absurd things to join.
    2) There is no legal liability for not telling the truth unless it's in a unilateral contract between businesses and we couldn't physically do it because of the HRA a right to freedom of expression which can be argued involves not wishing to divulge information to a third party.
    3) Lying for sex is not a crime that categorises as sexual assault the key word here being no mens Rea to intentionally have sex or sexual contact without your consent.
    4) Finally how can we prove what your saying is true? How do we know your not lying and claiming he wanted sex? Lets say your telling the truth but you had no sex? Impossible to prove pointless to suggest.
Put simply my clients come to me for reasons like "He beat me everyday" "He raped me daily" " This drunk driver injured me preventing me from working" " this driver on his phone killed my son" I think it's stuff like this that prioritises over "he lied to me and wanted sex instead of a buddy dude romance"

  • No because it isn't sexual assault. This is along the same lines as women claiming rape because they regret sleeping with someone after the fact.

It is poor form sure, but nomore is it an offense than women pretending to like men for their money. We don't later convict them of theft or financial acquisition under false pretenses. Nor do we do anything about devorce rape and neither do we convict women who falsely accuse Men in devorce or child custody cases. Should we? In a perfect world, yes. They are commiting purgery.

This is a completely absurd proposition.

  • no, you should be more selective and hard to get and take your time getting to know some one

weather they lie or not, you ultimately gave your consent there for its not assault or rape.
its called manipulation and there are no charges for that and no one can protect you from being lied to, no law can stop some one from lying. its up to you to be causious and gaurd your heart and body. no one else.

  • That's just dumb. Lying to get into someone's pants is a shitty thing to do but it's not sexual assault.

  • . . . . only if girls who accept a dinner date for the sole purpose of getting a free meal and a movie are arrested for perjury and theft.

  • That would be impossible to prove, and impossible to enforce.

  • It's an interesting idea. I see proving the person not showing real interest as something difficult to prove though. It's not like how a shoplifter can be caught in the act. The guy can just say the sex wasn't what wanted or he just stopped feeling interested.

  • No, although it is a dick move (pun intended), as long as she consents to it, then it's not sexual assault.
This is quite serious, if a woman can consent and then charge the man with sexual assault, then just imagine how many lives can be ruined this way.

  • Why would anyone say yes to this. Also why would anyone ask this. Many of people just want sex, again what’s this question even asking. I’ve told strippers I wanted a lap dance, they had no problems flirting with me and getting my feelings excited and getting more money from me. So she they be charged for sexual assault; fuck no, they need to dance on more men.

  • Nooooooo😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

  • I agree with your mention of consent.

  • Men have lied to women about many things but also women have lied to men. You can't make a law against one without making a law against the other. But it boils down to common sense. If you sounds to good to be true it probably is. You have to develop a judgement on people speaking fact or fiction. It comes down to your own integrity also

  • No. That's more of a buyers beware kind of thing.

  • No that's fucking stupid. Girls on Twitter just be saying the dumbest shit

  • You mean, are dumb cunts who are dumb cunts, dumb cunts who are dumb cunts?

Yes, generally speaking, dumb cunts who are dumb cunts are dumb cunts who are dumb cunts. @sholeee, whoever the fuck she is, qualifies. Along with anyone else who feels the same way.

  • That argument is on thin grounds
The punchline is, if she trusts him enough to give consent, she gave consent.
If she is not happy about how he represented himself, that's a separate interpersonal issue, however much the sex relied on that misreprestation, it represents a lapse in judgement on the woman in trusting him.

  • It's not sexual assault, but it could definitely qualify as fraud.

  • Good idea. Let's apply it on women as well. Women who flash their boobs and pretend to be interested just to get free meals, special favors and free stuff should get arrested.

  • If we got arrested for what we think all of us would be in prison...

  • No thanks

  • The girl agrees to sex it's not sexual assault even if she believes it comes from love.

  • Do you think that women who lie about their feelings for the guys money or car, should be arrested for sexual assault?

  • I think that's going a little bit too far because what if they're not lying and then they find out something about you that they don't like or maybe you didn't tell them the full truth I mean it's kind of your fault for sleeping with somebody that lied to you

  • Twitter feminists are the dumbest people on earth. They just complain about men all day. They are just bitter assholes
