12, but I don't recommend until after high school unless it's with the same sex. My sterility turned out to be a blessing in those days because I didn't end up pregnant in middle school or high school. Other girls (nor the guys who impregnated them, whether the high school athletes who had to give up everything or the older men who ended up on the sex offender registry) who started young weren't so lucky.

Looking back sex with a guy was the dumbest thing I could have done at that age and purely hetero teens need to wait until they can deal with an unexpected pregnancy. Gay and bi teens get a little more leeway, since girls can't get pregnant from girls and guys can't get guys pregnant.
