Why is 'gay' used as an insult?

  • I really doubt those kids on Xbox lives are hardened homophobes. Much like women calling other women manly, men calling other men girly, it can be playful to refer to others as something they are not. Like retard. To say it is "offensive" is ignoring nuance and the heart of the person saying it. You'd be giving it meaning that the person saying it didn't.

  • Straight is normal, gay is not, also being gay tend to be seen as unmasculine.

  • Well there are plenty of Man reasons to that. But it's not falut anyone being gay lesbian or anything

  • I don't get it as well to be honest, I'm ok with the LGBTQ group and some aren't, no one said they had to go against or support it but ignorant men or women (mostly men) only intend to barrage our intentions when we did nothing to hurt them in the first place.
