  • The top one is a bit tacky - or at least, kind of artless. The bottom one is much more artistic, with lighting that highlights the subject in an artistic way.

This is not uncommon, by the way. In a genuinely artistic photoshoot, where a photographer takes 300 pictures, 250+ of them will often look kind of artless, because of some flaw in lighting or pose or composition or whatever that loses the magic - but if he's good, he'll get 20 or 30 that are amazing and artistic.

I'm not at all the world's greatest photographer - my abilities in using the camera itself are somewhat limited as it's not something I do all the time - but I have a very good eye and an understanding of lighting from working a few years as a videographer (similar but very different too), and so I have taken a lot of pictures of lots of things, including artful nudes and implied nudes. Lighting is a huge, HUGE part of the puzzle, but there are also props and poses and clothing and hair and makeup and lots of other things that go into a really good shoot.
Here's a couple of quick examples I pulled out of Google Images that have lighting that highlights the subject and masks the background, which is helpful when your background isn't especially beautiful or interesting.

This background might have been beautiful, but might also have been distracting, so lighting helps keep focus on the subject.

This also uses lighting to obscure the background and create interesting shadows.

This pic uses colored (red) and soft white lighting, a fan to blow her hair, and a prop (the chair) to hide her nipples. Obviously these are professional but not necessarily expensive/high-end shots, and they could be recreated - or something similar - at home with a bit of effort and - if you're willing to spend a bit of money - a $40 LED light and stand.

    • I could careless about how artistic it looks , i'm talking about eroticism, if artistic means less of a turn on , then i would dispose it right into the trash , there is nothing exciting about the human body as soon as you take the secual allure away from it , i think some people find anything that gives them sexual provocation to be "bad" and nasty as if it's completely against nature... oh and talking about cheap and nasty , the last pic seems pretty much like it , really tacky and unprofessional , would be good for an amateur porn photoshoot, even though i don't find anything that turns me on to be cheap , if anything, i would have more respect for thrm.

    • Well, context is everything. If we're looking to be more overtly erotic, then I agree with you. But if you're after eroticism, then you probably aren't concerned about "tacky or classy"...

  • Eye candy. Nothing more nothing less. Art is art.
Just be aware what action you take,
and understand the pros and cons.
    As shake spear said
to be or not to be that is the qestion

not going to hate what you enjoy,
want to take pornogrphic pics, that fin, its art, videos its art its fin
but be a profession at the path you take, there's a big diffrece be twin a
profesional sex work, porn star, nude photos. Vs a whole, a slut and scum.
Major diffrece, the bigest one is,
scum don't care about others or them selves, a profesional takes pride in there work, cares about others, and them selves,
nude photos, anyone can do it, but it take a profesional to really make it work
all I am saying is. Don't lower your standereds and sell your self short, I pay great respect foractual porn stars nude moddle profesionals, I do not respect whores tho, I rather go to a profesional sex worker, then to take my chances with scum whores, or sluts, .
Its a deep and philsophical conundrom,
    but over all
main tain profesionalizum at all times, and take pride in what you do at all times

  • The first one looks like something you might see on an amateur skin site. The second one is pretty elegant.

  • Well they don't show anything so they are not trashy. I would say erotic.

    • You can show everything and still be classy.

    • Possibly but not as easily.

    • Naaah it's easy, stop having allergy to a female's body.

  • If that's you, but proud of what you've got. There will come a day when it's a little less firm, it'll be a cool reminder

  • I think they are classy. I don’t feel anything revolting looking at them.

    • Ugh I accidentally put A I meant B

  • I voted B
    I find them classy

  • I am a bit lost on this. Mainly on what you are expecting them to be. Artistic? Erotic? And you speak of professional, but the settings and the lighting are not great. The poses are erotic and arousing. The models are certainly beautiful. You mentioned photos showing private parts. Those would certainly be arousing. Some people will label any showing of nudity for eroticism to be cheap, but I think they can be classy. And so I will go with classy on these.

  • Giving the suggestion of nudity, but not showing anything explicitly.

  • Honestly depends on the person and who the photoshoot is for. Lets face it it is whatever you are comfortable with and happy with. Nude shots can range from arty nudes you would see in an art gallery to poses you would see on a porn site so there is a huge spectrum to navigate and totally your and your audience's choice.
If it was me as the subject or the audience (of probably one) I would go for an arty erotic display personally

  • The first is kind of average and leans towards purient, the second is more artsy.

  • That's a great question... Rolling Stone does this on their cover a lot and what that tells me is it can be classy but it clearly leaves nothing to the imagination either so it is by nature a cheap look, you are selling the goods before a guy can earn them. So it's a true dilemma to be sure but as terrible of an answer as it is, cheap and classy

  • neither, they are simply erotic

  • Editingwise there'd be more room to play with, but the model and the photos are top notch. Nothing to complain about there. A couple more poses would be nice, just for varietie's sake, but that's just some rambling beside your questions answer. Definetely classy, elegant and (ofc) sexy (because naked and teasing).

  • They aren't the most cheap and tacky kinda nude photos, but I definitely wouldn't call them elegant and classy. They are far from that.

  • I think they're very well done and beautiful. But they obviously would offend some people even though they're not porn or obscene.

  • In what context?

As a man, seeing an attractive woman naked... it is pleasurable.

I don't respect women who do that for public photos though. If my girl took the photos herself to give me alone... super hot and intimate.

Some model stripping naked and giving intimate and private views of herself away for money... sick.

  • I've seen much worse and much classier, I don't spend much time looking at that stuff now thou.

  • Good amateur photographs. I said classy, and they would be so with Playboy production values. They are sharp and well posed. The girls are attractive. The backgrounds are lacking, though.

  • Dudes do topless pictures in underwear and no one says a thing, these are equivalent.

    • But the thing is , they have covered their nipples , so what is the point?

    • A woman's boob ain't only about her nipple, it' the whole boob, cause her boobs are private parts and should be mostly covered...

  • To me, they could be art class poses or photos. I mean that. Don't get me wrong, you're a smoke show and it's probably about impossible for you to do anything in a pic that isn't pretty beautiful (that includes take a crap). Perception is subjective. The Viewer determines what's cheap vs beautiful.

Aesthetics, esp those regarding the human body are almost always subjective.
I modeled in the buff for this drawing class one time to earn some cash. And this woman came up at the end of class some time and asked me if I wasn't embarrassed? I said why should I be embarrassed? She was drawing me, right? She paid to take the class. She said, no, no nothing like that. She said, "Because you have that big scar on your side.". I said that's what happens if you get shot at close range. Hahaha. Look. We're Never going to be able to figure everyone else out, right? So... Why should we care what the hell people think? If you're happy with the pics... That's damn good enough for me. And it should be good enough for them too. If not? Fu*$'em.

    • Ahhhh... I read your comments about your pics. Now I get your question. Sooo... They COULD be viewed as sexy but they're def not crass or tacky. You're not Doing anything in either of them that is super hot either though. They're just your garden variety pretty woman posing. They Are NOT sexually provocative at all really. Period. In one your laying on a couch. In the other, glancing at something like someone just knocked on your door. The fact that you don't have clothes on doesn't Matter. To me, at all. It's irrelevant to how "sexually filled they are or aren't". But that's not what you were TRYING to do in either of these either. It really seems like you're trying to turn these into an issue or a statement that they simply can't be made use of that way. I think you Know that too. Not sure What it Is that you're playing at? But play is the right word I think. Not everything is hot or sexual even if a pretty nude girl is in the pic or not. It is what it is. Everytime. If this was an 85 year old woman, same exact poses and no clothes? Is she hot and sexual? Nope. And it has NOTHING to do with the fact that she's 85 either. ✌️🤟🙉🤯

  • Second one has a somewhat more classy vibe, mainly down to the lighting and staging. But the model has a natural beauty and confidence on camera that you might call 'class'. Cheap and tacky would be if she was bent over a park bench on a cloudy day getting fingered by some roadman with a bottle of White Lightning in one hand and a fag in the other xD

    • I find the 1st to be more sexually appealing, teasing and playful, this is the look i'm going for.

    • Can't beat a playful sexy tease! 😁 is that you in the pic? Or this is just for inspiration?

    • Naah i would actually never do that , artistic or not , nothing is worthy to strip for😛
