Teen girls have always been desired by men, from 16 to 60, and for all of history, it's been commonplace for men into their 30s and even 40s to marry girls in their teens - that only really started changing in western culture in the 1960s, and in many cultures around the world, it's still a normal practice. Hell, in much of Europe, the age of consent is 16, which means a 35-year-old being with a 16-year-old is completely legal. In many US states, the age of consent was as low as 14, and that was true until the late 60s and 70s when feminists pushed for much higher ages of consent (Texas was still 14 until about 1992).

Now, to be fair, being SEXUALLY attracted is not the same thing as being ROMANTICALLY attracted - tons of older men would happily bang hot teen girls, but most don't have a lot in common with them, and it wouldn't be super easy to have a relationship with them. That, in part, is why age of consent laws exist in the first place.
It also explains why the single most common porn search term is "teen", though it also needs to be understood that in the context of porn, this term means, in practice, "girls between 18-22 or so, or who look young enough to be in that age range even if they're a bit older."
