Can we rename 'doggy style'?

Now is that a future show dog or what? (What a gorgeous Akita pup)

Okay, I might regret this, but it's Friday night and I'm goona ask... (she said, wincing and cringing). Hopefully this doesn't diverge into total trash anarchy.
Anyone got any better term we can use for this phrase? I don't like calling it this. I don't like things that end in 'y' or 'ie' unless they're legit child-like or sweet. And this thing is not. Feels great, I know, and I don't disagree that we sometimes feel like primal animals, yes... but dogs? We can do better than that, can't we? There are over 1 million words in the English language (171,476 in current use.) Why do we have to be dogs? (I love them, don't get me wrong. But as pets, not as being one.)

It should probably be one word, maybe two, or not that many (the other ones, cowboy, cowgirl, are single words.)
Should be something *not overly graphic* that can be said in public and not be understood by the little ones, etc.
I like abstract, double meanings, innuendo, suggestive ideas, and not so literal phrases.
Bonus points if you can also think of alternate names for cowboy & cowgirl. They could use a modern reboot too. Although I grew up with an avid horse and cattle culture, so they're not too bad.
I've been pondering this for years, and honestly never came up with anything. Only thing that occurred to me today was 'deep dive'. But, eh.

  • Good question! I love this! Let's see...
"Ferarum"... It pertains to "In the manner of wild beasts".

    • It would have to take a major astrological event for me to not give you the MHO on this later...
That is some sexy thinking there.
Nice, nice job, Sir. I did not mention 'extra points for Latin' but boooooy was I thinking it 😁

  • There's the always-popular "from behind."

    • Yes, nothing wrong with that. Doesn't have any pinache, but definitely communicates the basics. Just have to clarify/specify "not back door." I always wonder if it will get misconstrued.

    • The back door can be a lot of fun though...

    • Mine has a moat around it. With alligators. And a dragon.

  • ok. i read through twice. tried everything to think of something new. but i really love cowboys and i love cowgirls, too! and i dig their style and they do, too. and re-naming things this late in the game is never gonna work. so doggy style it is until someone comes up with something better. but it's still my fave except for those already mentioned.

ya and i know that none of this helped answer your question. i just wanted you to know that i tried.

  • Butt up

  • Wow!

    Eureka Amanda!
The name I suggest instead of this style, because of the appearance,
    h style.

  • How about something mathematical... cum-in-denominator? Get it?:) It would work at universities... no?

    The Chiwawa? The shangrila?

I gave it my best shot... good night!

  • I like that position, but I've always been embarrassed when getting a new girlfriend, to call it that. I just leave out the word "style" and I just call it "doggy". It gets the point across. You can say, "rear entry" but that sounds too clinical I think... LOL

    • Yeah, I think all of those words detract from it. But good thing, in this case, actions are more than adequate to communicate and get the idea across.

  • How 'bout "pound the back door" or something like that?

    • How would we differentiate between the 'other' back door though?

  • I like that it's called doggy style.🐕🐕

  • It does make me feel bad that we have to drag doggies into the phase :( It does make me wonder if one is found... could a meme make it take off :)

    • Yesss, it definitely could. Let's see how this pans out... I'm sure you have a meme generator in your back pocket.

    • Of course I do right next to my wallet :)

    • Good man.

  • I believe I am unqualified for this question...
Miss Amanda, I almost missed your question with your new profile pic!

    • Unqualified? Nah. Lol. Yeah, saw wowgirl30q's recent q, and got all on a tangent about pikachu and pikas. Was trying out a bunch more avatars. I'm indecisive though. Not sure if I'll stick with this or jump around. I like a lot. When it comes to images and design it's hard to settle on one. But I do love the graphic quality of my other bunny. Nice and easy to see.

  • Doggy- plumbing
    Cowboy- sand dunes
    Cowgirl- liberty bell

    • I love 'sand dunes' and 'liberty bell' makes sense. 👌

  • Nope... it is perfectly named.

  • I'd most likely to rename it as 'back attack' even though it's a welcome attack 🤔

  • Canine copulation.

  • wolf style?
    ;-)
    lol @ primal

    "doggy style" alternatives :
    "Turn style"
    "Did you drop something"
    "Leap Frog" / "Froggy Style"
    "hand and knees"
    "pub crawl"

    "cowgirl" alternatives :
    "saddle up"
    "yeehaw"
"keep your heels outta my thighs"
    "sit and spin"

    • Lmao "Did you drop something". Soooo funny. "Pub crawl" also funny. Pls explain "turn style". Cowgirl alternatives interesting. So, hey, what's your opinion of why it got named "doggy" in the first place? Why do some people think it makes sense? Why that and not any other animals? Did ever ever watch The Sopranos? The scene where Tony goes to visit his Thoroughbred racehorse breeding with another horse... what a strange, potent scene that was. I'm not sure what David Chase was intending by that scene, but I've never forgotten it.

  • Froggystyle

  • "Animal" why not that simple? Maybe "primal"
    No bonus points today.

    • Did you read through the others? I love this answer. But it's also the exact same as @jakeofalltrades Copying? Or great minds think alike?

    • No, I didn't. But this is what's obvious in my opinion. 😉

  • Its pretty accurately if you have ever seen dogs going at it but realistically its just reverse cowgirl rotated 90 degrees on the horizontal so riding the right angle

    • But why dogs? Why not any/all other animals? I don't see any difference. Isn't it just because dogs are the second most common house pet?
