I've had a few of them, and most have been successful, but the key is up-front honesty AND that there's a reason that a relationship wouldn't work out.
In my case, a couple of the girls were religious girls who were in their rebellious phase but knew that they would ultimately go back to their family and church and marry someone in their religion A couple of others were moving away and didn't want to get emotionally involved when it couldn't last. And a couple were bi-girls who didn't want a relationship with a guy but craved occasional sex with a man (specifically a dominant man).
I've also had a couple where she obviously had feelings - one we actually ended up dating, and the other I had to end pretty quickly.
friends with benefits isn't for everyone - you have to be very mature and willing to communicate honestly, and you generally have to have a reason why you want a friends with benefits rather than a relationship.
Only problem with that description, this is how it SHOULD be, but often there is NO friendship whats so ever! Not even basic respect sadly. I even asked this question on here, if anyone had respect for their fwbs, not 1 single person said they did. Wow! Just sad.
I have had an friends with benefits. I did not hate it but I was always hoping for more... more sex, more cuddling, more affection, more time. It did not happen so I ended it after a few months. ye fine line. trick is to not see them too much in the benefits capacity so they dont get hooked have a few friends with benefits then u dont get needy just to one. how was the sex while it lasted?
@manmeat I mean, it was ok. Nothing mind-blowing but a nice release. We probably met as FWBs once every couple of weeks and hung out a few times with a group of friends between those times. I had set him straight right at the beginning that we were just having fun and it will never be anything more. But when you catch the feels, you'll catch them. He's married now with a kid, so it all worked out fine in the end.
