  • Because being "friends" with someone has tons of plus sides and few to no drawbacks, whereas relationships come with all sorts of rules and restrictions. If you were to ask most guys, they'd probably say that the only thing friendship is missing is sex. Assuming you're a straight male, you obviously can't have sex with your male friends, and for the longest time co-ed friendships had forbidden all sexual activity for some silly reason--and they still forbid it for the most part. "Friends with benefits" is the rare exception, where friendship can reach new heights!

Also, consider the customs and activities involved in conventional relationships. Have you noticed that it's almost 100% caters to women? Most men could do without all the romance, pageantry, and servitude that most women seem to require from most men as a prerequisite to have sex with them. Riddle me this: If sex is equally enjoyable for both sexes, why does the man have to do so much extra work? Doesn't seem too fair... hmm

  • Nothing makes a guy want to have friends with benefits thats just one type of guy i think there's three types of guys 1. The player basically they think thier gods gift to women and as such can not be tied down to any one female 2. The demi god which means your cute enough to have sex with when ever i can't find a hook up and am horny but always looking for the shallow hottie to call his lady. 3 (the group i fall under) looking for a relationship someone special not 2, 3, or 4 just 1 the special 1

  • Setting aside sex (because in your example, he's getting sex either way), what are the benefits to the GUY for being in a relationship?

I almost never get an answer to that question from women - it's something women almost never think about - and of the few times I've gotten ANY answer, I've only gotten a decent answer once.

  • Probably just not wanting to be tied down/trapped. It can be kinda scary to feel like you're sacrificing any potential other girls. That or there could be something he wants to work on before being in a relationship.

  • I’m at the opposite condition of your question, I’ve been looking for someone to have a serious relationship with for the last 20 years, yet all I’ve found was girls who wants to have non-commited relationships like ONS/FWB/whatever people call it.. 😞

  • Because the girl allows it

  • Options. A guy is only as faithful as his options.

  • The women isn’t relationship material

  • Friends with Benefits is a relationship, just not one that implies exclusivity or involvement beyond the occasional intercourse.

  • Cowardice mostly, laziness probably plays a part too. A man who takes half measures in life, wants to have his cake and eat it to , won't face up to the risks and hard work.

  • Because with relationship comes great responsibility. And sometimes we don't want to take that responsibility. So we prefer friends with benefits. All pleasure, no worry.

  • There can be many reasons when I was 15 I dated a girl that was 19 and actually lived together for 2 years and she lied constantly and fuck everybody she came in contact with after her I wasn't gonna let any female do me that way ever again so I had lots of girl friends FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS and they all knew each other and I was honest with all of them a few of them wanted to be exclusive but I didn't want no part of it so they were cool with just doing our own things when we were running around and doing each other like crazy when we were together. Really the more standoffish I was the more they chased me so there was no way I was gonna give that up

  • He is probably aware that 50 per cent of marriages end in divorce and that the law and the courts are extremely unjust toward men.
He probably does not want the state to steal his home and most of his future income through child support and alimony.
He probably does not want to go to prison and be arse raped, because he could not pay an unrealistic child support order.
Relationships of any kind, but especially marriage and a family, have been made so legally and financially dangerous that only a fool would entertain the idea.

  • Honestly, if we see her being a pain in the ass. Women don't realize how much guys notice when they start acting up.

  • i can't speak for all guys but when i say i want friends with benefits that means that for whatever reason my life isn't steady at the moment but i still want physical and emotional intimacy.
for me in order to want a commited relationship i need to be sure that i will stay in this place long term or else it makes no sense, cause i don't believe in long distance relationships.
