@1828ToastyTimothy people just want to be the smart one and to be right so badly, when reality doesn't actually seem to matter to them. Take their family member or a loved one with a life threatening condition where all hope seems lost and then put into practice what they are so stubborn about and see where it gets them. Its so terrible to say, I don't mean it to be gruesome. Or, you can take what real life ordinary people who were able to recover from the trajectory and diagnosis of certain death did to be completely cured. And there was nothing special about these people, they were just extremely blessed and lucky to have found or been led to the right person with the right information.
By all accounts, my diet isn't great nor do I go to the gym often enough, @1828avaava1828. At the end of the day, though, there are no excuses. "But my job!" "But my school work!" "But" nothing. Either they will do it or they won't.

@1828avaava1828 I find it more productive to do the box jump with just socks if not barefoot at the gym. Once did the treadmill thinking it would do what I thought it would. Forget the machines. Forget pulling a cord. Full body exercises without the support of machines is what will help improve one's discipline!

@1828ToastyTimothy corrective exercise first. that means start with breathing. The ribcage is everything! An expanisive ribcage that can get big and let the lungs fill to maximum capacity makes the whole structure work way better! start from the inside then go out. First step is ribcage expansion and breathing. The bigger, longer, broader, and more expansive the axial skeleton gets, the ribcage and spine, the better all the limbs and other parts can pull into it, absorb force, create force, be athletic. Get strong from the inside out not the outside in. After your ribcage can expand, then that allows the hips to be able to hinge much more effectively. A hinge hip is the fundamental movement of the human body, after breathing of course. Every step you walk technically is designed to be a one legged hip hinge, but sadly that doesn't happen for many people. After you can expand and hinge, you can do whatever activity you like. It doesn't really matter what form you like whether its running, hiking, playing a sport, or strength training. Take a body that can expand and hinge into it and you're going to do much much better :)
