I think the only time I wanted to heal sick people is when I first heard the gospel of Jesus in middle school since I associated with the gospel of Jesus with the love of God and healing was a way of promoting and progressing that love - obviously I prefer good to evil but healing involves a lot of unpleasant things too like foul odours and dirt etc...
